
Kasabian are a British band from Leicester whose members attended Leysland High School and Countesthorpe Community College.
Kasabian are:- Tom Meighan - Lead vocals & Backing vocals Serge Pizzorno - Guitar, Synths, Backing vocals & Lead vocals Chris Karloff - Lead Guitar, Bass, Synths & Omni Chord Christopher Edwards - Bass
The band has been compared with the likes of Primal Scream, with their similar electronica- indie rock fusion and Oasis, with whom they share their confidence, vision, swagger and rough vocal style.
Kasabian were a supporting act to Oasis during their 2005 Don't Believe the Truth-supporting tour, for which they commented: "You can't fuck with Oasis". Kasabian have been described as "Music made by the people for the people". Kasabian are named after Linda Kasabian, Charles Manson's getaway driver turned star prosecution witness in the Manson "family" trial.
The band, apparently seeking publicity, retreated to an English farmhouse for the duration of the recording of their self-titled debut, Kasabian.
Their song, "Club Foot", is dedicated to Jan Palach and is now featuring on popular football game Pro Evolution Soccer 5, is soon to appear on the video game Marc Ecko's Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure. "Club Foot" has also appeared in a trailer of the movie, Serenity, and a commercial for Chef Boyardee. The song "L.S.F" featured on the popular football game FIFA 2004. The song "Reason is Treason" is on the opening video of the best-selling racing simulator Gran Turismo 4. Note: The version of "Reason is Treason" featured is a remix which can be found seven minutes into the the final track ("U-Boat") on Kasabian's self-titled album.
