Artist: Kashmir
Song: Melpomene
Album: Zitilites
Tabbed by: GWiZ (gamewizard@get2net.dk)
[edit: I've changed all the "Hm" chords to "Bm". It's the same chord.]
[to all the danish readers it is an english Bm ;)]

C Bm
something tells me that I'm left without a chance
C
in my supicious attempts to get her close
Bm
enough to close my lips around her smile

now I can't close my eyes when she's around
C
she is around
Em D
passing like the wind that shapes the clouds
Bm C G
she is around, she is around

C Bm
I don't know how but suddenly it has been a while
C
and we've been walking in through that same front door
Bm
undressing like there were no parts to hide

and calling each other names we never had
C
you never heard
Em
and then an unexpected turn
D
and we hit the kerb
Bm C
a stupid term, a fatal word

Am
flutter girl
Em
killing me with her sunshine
D
sunshine
Am
she's so unaware
C Am G D
that she's my melpomene

C G/h
you broke the code
Am Em
just like I'm sure you always do
D C
without intentions but I know
Em D
that's how I broke away from you
Bm C
now that the clouds are obsolete
G Am
I hope you landed on your feet
Em
without those evil demons
Bm
keeping you reminded of...

C G/h
the war's they pulled us through
Am Em
as fragile hearts ran short of glue
D C
as we're both running out of time
Em D
and seek to drown the fact in wine
Bm C
it should be honest and naïve
G Am
like we should give, we should receive
Em
I must be jaded fading
Bm Am
out of function into solitude

---Solo--

Am
flutter girl
Em
killing me with her sunshine
D
sunshine
Am
she's so unaware
C Am G D
that she's my melpomene

Am
flutter girl
Em
killing me with her sunshine
D
sunshine
Am
she's so unaware
C Am G D
that she's my melpomene

Note that in the second part of the B-part, "the war's they..." you have
to "play" a little around with the chords the get the right sound. If I have
the time, I'll post some tabs for that and maybe the solo.
Cheers, GWiZ.

Melpomene is the Greek Godess of war. I think he's singing about she doesn't realise the pain she's putting people through including himself, but he'll stick by her. "You're my Melpomene" and "killing me with her sunshine " Just an idea? :)

Isn't it "and then an unexpected turn and we hit the kerb, stupid TURN" ?? Anyhow to me this song is about being hurt yet still being helplessly in love with that girl who hurt you.

maybe one of the best songs ever. really like the melody, and lyrics are great too.
