This song was actually written by Sarah Buxton, her song "Innocence" is played on some country stations right now. Her friend is Keith Urban's manager, so she played him this song and he fell in love with it- he wanted to put it on his new CD (Love, Pain, & The Whole Crazy Thing) so he recorded it! Sarah's version is from the point of view of the girl who had the stupid boy and Keith's version is from the point of view of the stupid boy... both are amazing! Check out Sarah's Buxton's myspace to hear her version and learn more about her: www.myspace.com/sarahbuxton Hope y'all loved the song- it is one of my favorites!!

the last part of the song is this: Nobody's ever gonna love me like she loved me And she loved me, she loved me God please, just let her know I'm sorry, I'm sorry I'm sorry, I'm sorry Baby, yeah, I'm down on my knees She's never coming back to me

Keith Urban isn't country... he's soft rock. And he's far from a great guitarist, he's a decent guitarist in my opinion, and I think he will become nothing more. Regardless, I enjoy this song.

amazing amazing song. Well, I don't think I should bother saying what this song is about since I everyone has got it right on target. It's a very beautiful and emotional song. Alot of people can relate to it. I think everyone in there life at one point or another becomes a stupid boy, or be with that one stupid boy that would be that stupid and blind.

This song should be a big time hit soon on country music radio I think. So I will be one of the first to explain what I think it means. Basically the whole stupid boy is him talking to himself(the subject) about how stupid he was for letting this girl go. She 'let her heart and soul ride in your hands' means that she put a ton of effort into things and let him have every bit of her and trusted him with her heart...then he demolished every bit of what she had given. He thought he could do whatever he wanted to her, tell her what to do, push her around and basically treat her like she was second string...then after awhile she got tired of it all and ran away from it all, she left him with her heart and dreams broken. Basically he controlled her life, telling her what she could and couldnt do...now he realizes that shes gone and that she was truly in love with him and trusted him with everything she had and now shes gone and theres nothing he can do and knows he was wrong for what he did. stupid boy. what a great song, musically, lyrically...it all comes together.

To me this song isnt about the boyfriend being controlling like "you cant do this" i think its more that he has such a hold on her. She was so in love with him, that she would do anything for him, not so much because he would tell her to, but because she loved him so much. she would take anything he threw at her because she loved him, and eventually it got to the point where she couldnt handle it anymore, and he is now realizing that he did a bad job in the relationship. that he knew how much she loved him, and that even though he didnt control her in the sense people think, he sort of did. thats just my take on it though

i think that kieth urban is mainly talking about himself but he's saying how he (or any other guys 4 that matter) take advantage of a girl and push her around and tell her what 2 do. he/some guys don't know what it means 2 have some one that loves them so they take the girl, make her feel like crap, dump her, go 2 the next girl, and when it's over with the new girl they try to go back to the girl who acctually cared about him, the one that was there for him, the one that saw him as everything. but ussually by then, the girl gets the point that it's over and has moved on. so in reality, the boy was stupid, he left something important behind, something that he now knows he needs. something that makes him feel whole again. at least that's the way i feel about it cuz my ex bf and i are going through something a lot like this and it does hurt, not just me but i can tell it's hurting him too.

this song means a lot to me bc im kinda in a similar relationship... i think it's about a girl who was a free spirit and she met a guy who she fell madly inlove with and he wlaked all over her && pushed her around and told her what she cant and can do... and she just stayed with him because she loved him && she thought it would get better but then she realized that she didn't have to take that anymore and realized how strong she used to be at once... and so she left... and now he's realizing how much he really did care about her and he regrets it... and i honestly think that the reason why he was so controlling is because he cared about her too much and didnt want to see her get hurt but what he didnt realize is how unhappy he was making her... and he finally realizes tht... this song means so much to me...

Personally, I like Sarah Buxton's version better, being that she wrote the song, and it is coming from a girl's point of view. But either way, the song is beautiful!

I love this song. When I first listened to it, I thought that it was about a man who was singing to his daughter's boyfriend. But now it makes more sense that it's about a guy who realized he was a jerk to a girl he really loved and now it's too late to do anything about it. Great song...

I know this song is written about boyfriend/girlfriend relationships...but to me this song fits perfectly with what I'm dealing with with my dad lately. He is very controlling...one of these days soon I'm moving out and that last bit will come true and he'll realize its too late "It took awhile for her to figure out she could run But when she did, she was long gone, long gone"

This is a great song. One of the first of the newer country songs to really show some heart beyond the I loved you, I lost you, I want you back type scenario. It shows a lot of courage from a country singer to that. Especially when it's riding up against "Honky Tonk Badonky Donk" or whatever the hell that stupid song is. Thank God there are still some singers out there with class. Keith is definitely one of them.
