The murder trilogy is on the album. 1st is Mr. Brightside. Where he falls in love with a prostitute. Next is Midnight show, where he sleeps with her, and she becomes pregnant, and he kills the baby. Last is Jenny was a friend of mind, where he kills her. Well at least that's how I see it.

this song almost makes me want to cry. i love it though. i think it is about a girlfriend who told her boyfriend she wanted to break up and he couldnt deal with it so, he killed her. "she couldnt scream as i held her close, i swore i'd never let her go" then he gets questioned by the cops and he's trying to convince the cops and himself that he is innocent, but of course, he's not. "I know my rights, I've been here all day and it's time For me to go, so let me know if it's alright I just can't take this, I swear I told you the truth" then, he slips out with the details.

This song is about ofter he kills Jenny. Or thats what I think. It starts with Midnight shw where he kills her. Now he is being interigized by the police. "There is no motive for this crime" He had no reason to do it. "Jenny was a friend of mine" he's saying, Why would I kill her. She's my friends. I think Mr.Brightside has something to do with it also. "She had somewhere to go." the other guy in Brightside. This alblum/movie reminds me of American Idiot by greenday. Rock Operaish. The way it tells a story, not the sond.

They're turning the whole Murder trilogy into a mini-movie (about 25 minutes long). Says so in NME. Ipso. Facto.

I think it was based on a real boyfriend-kills-girlfriend case in Las Vegas, from where The Killers hail. Great combo of rock-n-80s-stylee-Duran stuff.

I love this song and 'Midnight Show', there's such darkness that goes so well with the glamorous sound of their music- this song *is* pretty self-explanatory, when taken in context with what the Killers have said about the mini-movie. I hope that when it's done it's released so that everyone can see it, not just competition winners. But anyway, I just wondered if anyone had noticed that Brandon has linked 'Jenny' and 'Midnight Show' through the line 'she said she loved me' which is sung in the same vicious way in this song and (quietly, I had to know it was there to hear it) at the end of 'Midnight Show'. Whoever the killer is in the movie, Jenny saying that she loved him seems to be integral to his motive. So I'm going with the 'she was dumping him, he couldn't handle it so he killed her' theory myself.
