| Before I really heard anything of Killswitch I always dismissed them as "modern emo crap", this song pretty much turned me into a Killswitch nut. Absolutely brutal riffs in here. i love the way Killswitch effortelessely encompass positive and hopeful feeling into their music. | |

| In the bridge, I think he says "Let them do their worst." But yeah, I agree with Slayer's theory. Religious faith pretty much sums it up. | |

| "They cannot break these chains of faith" "We will live, live eternal" It's about being a Christian and the tests of faith Christians go through from the non-believers and the decieving & tempting things of this world. "Dont let the world deceive you Dont let their words betray you Dont let their lies deceive you Let Them Do Their Worst" | |

| the way i see it. i agree with those that believe this song has to do with christian beliefs. "Death claims us no more" as christians believe, death is no longer an obstacle because after death is eternal life. "Do not grief, end the suffering We will live, live eternal" this line just goes hand in hand with my previous statement. "Will you take the stand among the dead? Bury your fear, and hold fast to life" the dead refers to those who are not christians that deny the existance of God and the birth and resurrection of Jesus. they are refered to as the dead because according to belief they are condemned to hell/the lake of fire after death. burying you fear refers to not being afraid to stand for God and to stand for him because He is life. "Dont let the world deceive you Dont let their words betray you Dont let their lies deceive you Lead them to their graves" yeah this should be taken literally i guess. dont let "the world" change your beliefs or be brought down by their lies. and instead be an example and show them the truth and lead them to their graves (to eternal life) then again i could be completely wrong but thats how i take it. peace! -hec | |

| All music should be emo, seeing as emo is 'emotional'. And 'Absolution' means that all sins are pardoned through the action of the priest (what I heard), so it can be easy to see it from a religious view, but I personally don't see it like that. Seems to fit in with a main contender of "KSE's most overused subject matter", ie triumphing over adversity. | |

| anyone who thinks KSE is emo, or is anywhere near it is an idiot and should /themselves. Seriously, I am tired of everything being labeled emo, and stuff that is, is auomatically labeled as completely crap just because of a emo label, or that some songs have meaning that happens to be a "emo theme". As for this song, I doubt it is about religious faith... I look at it not letting "death", which can be a metaphor for many things (depression, death, society influences etc), consume your life. In lieu of that, "Anchor yourself to the foundation of everything you love, Believe you have just become to live" seems to be live life to the fullest, and not letting others dictate it "or die this way" and " Dont let the world deceive you, Dont let their words betray you, Dont let their lies deceive you" My 2 cents, but I see no religious themes at all | |

| Personally, I take this song to be about religious faith. That's just my two cents. This was a great album. It's no Alive or Just Breathing, but it makes up for End of Heartache. That was an okay CD, but nothing out of the ordinary and everything on it sounded too alike. This song is probably now my favorite KSE song, though. | |

| KSE rock. I love how a lot of their songs give a positive message (which is more than I can say about a lot of current popular music). Great song. | |
