yes this song is the best!! (obviously like every other song by kisschasy!!) but as to the meaning, it would appear to about pressure to be like something, but also just about music and how it affects people. (when we play the beat, its what i live for. takes everythign away form me) and yes, there IS a funny bit at the end thats really high and, if you ask me, un-recognisable as saying anything at all, but it IS there!

This is my favourite Kisschasy song and I can't believe nobody has commented :o Ok so the meaning.I have a feeling there's two different settings for this starting with the first verse is kinda like Darren singing about being on stage but then the second verse,to me,it's like he's trying to follow a friend into being something that he isn't.And in the final verse he's come to realise he's mistake.

Do you think that there could be some self injury involved in this? "I'll Take A Needle To My Skin, Anger Is The Brand New Thing"???

WICKED SONG!!!! yeah, i agree with bleedthecoloursopen about this song being about the "emo" phase and about selfharm. hurting your self just to fit in is really silly. self harm is a really serious issue and shouldn't be done just to fit in.

yeah swnkclps right, such a good song live, it really hits you. They play their music (this is what where fighting for, for you..) to get a msg through, not to fit in with a certain scene..

i think this song is about how hes trying to fit in and follow a trend in a way that it harms himself like the whole emo punk scene with like the stereotypes of wrist cutting and stuff and hes tried to fit into that scene and hes realised he doesn't wanna be anything but himself

This song is about the Melbourne music scene and how much Darren hates it.

I think this song is about following a trend and doing things to fit, and is perhaps a go at the emo scene, where everyone has the same clothes and hair etc. I think the 'take a needle to my skin, anger is the brand new thing' line is about getting tattoos and being angry at the world to fit into that emo scene, not about self injury. Awesome song, especially the drums at the start.

Calm the fuck down. Not you, comebackem, I agree with you 100%. I'm talking to the world. The stereotypes. The scenes. "i used to think that we were all the same but now i see, that your so much better maybe we're not cut out for your scene." Emo is cool, ok, yeah, it's cool. I love the hair and the clothes and the music. But it's stupid to think that you HAVE to be involved. You don't HAVE to be. You really don't. I dress in a way that some people may have the nerve to call me "emo". My daily dress-code consists of a black, white or red band t-shirt, black skinny leg jeans and black converse shoes. I have blond hair, before you ask. But I dress like this because it's what I like. I don't consider myself emo. I am not angry at the world. Darren is on the right track in this song. Maybe we aren't cut out for the "emo" scene. It's just a phase. Just as the 70's stage was. We're all going to look back in 10-20 years, and think how fucking stupid we all looked. Emo is a phase which will soon be over. But I will dress the way I do forver. Do you notice the difference?
