Maybe the movie about St. Joan of Arc was 1 hour and 19 minutes long?

The line "swallow whirls of dust into my mouth" is a great one for visualizations. You feel like you are chewing on dust sometimes when you talk to people because you feel so bad.

Wow.. some people have overactive imaginations. If they were from anywhere in America, don't you think their English would be better? [Not that it's bad. It's actually quite good.. but some of the ways they say things, like Cristina was talking about her bandmates in an interview & said something about "each single of them", make it obvious they aren't from around here.] -anyway- I wouldn't be surprised if they gave this song the odd title just to throw us off. That's comforting in my mind, at least. Heh.

The St. Joan of Arc thing.. I don't think it'd be correct. If it were that simple, the band wouldn't have kept the meaning a secret. The only thing I can really think of as, "the distance between two places", that has to do with the song is the distance between life and death. Also, it's called 1:19, maybe they knew someone who was attempting to commit suicide and almost died at that time..? I have no idea, this is just a guess.. x_x; Hopefully someday Lacuna Coil will say the true meaning.

This song reminds me of 9-11, it was recorded before the event, but the images of dust swirling and suicide almost get into the heads of the pilots and others on the planes. If you reverse the 1:19 to 911 and take the opposite veiw of the event it is like an omen.DO NOT PISSED OFF I AM JUST SHOWING ANOTHER WAY OF LOOKING AT THE SONG.Besides you sould be a Doom/Death/Goth metal fan anyway.

I am not having a point of view as to who is right or wrong, but jmb2440, if they did infact do all the stuff you claim they have done, can you tell us just where you got your information? Nothing you said seems to follow up. -_-'

Thanks for responding to the message hyzenthlay, but there is a problem with your question. You see, you asked me where I obtained my info because nothing I said seems to follow up. Well you can't obtain any information unless it it second hand- meaning I was there for these incidents. That means that what you are receiving is information. The only thing that proves what you believe about the band is what has been filtered down to you. The last time people believed main stream media, we were subjected to the likes of Milli Vanilli and Vanilla Ice. If that isn't evidence enough that you shouldn't believe everything a record company or rock journalism tells you, then I don't what is. I know the truth and I would hope others just realize that this is just another example of the greed and lies in the industry. Hell, be honest - would you like them any less if they weren't from Italy? Nor, should you like them any less because of what I'm saying. It's just a piece of band-lore that most don't know about, and the fans that pursue that bit of knowledge will find out a lot more than what's in the media. I'm not saying this to trash them. I love the band and their work, it's just a bit for the masses- not a load of bull.

I happened to have a personal connection to Lacuna Coil, because they have a history that extends far beyond Italy. In fact the original members of the band were based in - get this - New Orleans, LA. The original lead guitarist wrote this song after watching a TV movie about St. Joan of Arc, which directly plays into theories about someone being sentenced to death. The song was originally titled "Wonderful," and the reason it held that title was because the little girl playing the young Joan in the movie kept yelling the phrase, "It's wonderful! Everything is wonderful!"

Lacuna Coil has a darker sound, Evanescence has a more mainstream one. Why does everyone correlate the two? I love them both, but come on, they aren't that similar. Still trying to figure out what 1:19 has to do with the lyrics. All Andrea and Cristina are saying is that it's the distance between two places... I'm thinking the description makes it look like a crime scene or perhaps a religous building, but those are a bit too obvious to be right =/. Then, it also reminds me of a delusional scene, perhaps suicidal? "Lights around are flashing/and in meat a razorblade/water falls down" -- Candles flicker, razorblade, and bleeding? That's a far reach, someone should plant a general idea before I spout out nonsense again...

Wow!!!!! I love Acetica's interpretations of Lacuna Coil's music. She really grasps their true meanings. I truly love this band and their music. Their songs are all so touching and moving:)
