Band: Lacuna Coil
Song: Cold Heritage
Album: Unleashed Memories
Tuning: Standard (EADGBE, Low to high)
Tabber: Ray Osborn

Hello Lacuna Coil fans and guitarists. This is a beautiful song by a great band and this
is also my first tab ever. This song though has alot of weird guitar parts where you have
loads of trouble hearing any guitar (the chorus). Anyway...

Guitar One (Intro/Verse/Main Riff) [0:07]
E-1--------1--------------------------------------------------------------
B----1--------1-----------------------------------------------------------
G-------3------------------------------------------------------------------
D-----------------4--------------------------------------------------------
A---------------------------------------------------------------------------
E---------------------------------------------------------------------------

That riff is played throughout the verse. I'm kind of lazy and don't feel like saying
how many times you play it, but you can listen and get the gist of it.

Guitar 2/Keyboard (Intro/Verse/Main Riff) [0:19] {It maybe a keyboard. I'm not 100%
with this one}
E---------------------------------------------------------------------------
B-11-13-11--9---------------------------------------------------------------
G---------------------------------------------------------------------------
D---------------------------------------------------------------------------
A---------------------------------------------------------------------------
E---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Guitar 1 (Chorus 1) [1:07] {This parts odd since the production made the guitars a big
wall of sound...)

E------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B------------------------------------------------------------------------------
G------------------------------------------------------------------------------
D--10-------------------------------------------------------------------------
A--8--------------------------------------------------------------------------
E------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Guitar 2 (Chorus 1) [1:13] {This repeated later on in the song, but it's much harder to
hear this time, although I'm 100% this is it}

E-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
G-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
D--11-10-13-----11-10-15--------------------------------------------------------
A-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
E-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Go back to the main riffage, then...

Guitar 1 [1:43] (Chorus 2)
E------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
G-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
D--10------------------------------------------------------------8------------
A--8-------------------------------------------------------------6-----------
E-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Guitar 2 [2:07] (Chorus 2)
E------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
G-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
D--11-11-10-10--------11-10-13---11-10-15------------------------------------
A----------------------------------------------------------------------------
E----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Main riffage again, chorus 1 again, then chorus 2 again, and that's about it. The reason
I don't thinl they do this song much live is because it's based on production reallly.
Anyway, enjoy. Questions? Comments? Hate Mail? Send them to houseofleaves65800@yahoo.com

When we fail, we feel mad inside us, because we feel that the situation could have been to our favor, but for that this will be possible, we required of a sensation of support, emitted of some person in particular, and there is as pronounced at the beginning of the song when she sing "A beloved and very far voice can help you more than a silly physical presence."

First off, I loooooove this song! Great beat, beautiful vocals, just like everyone else has already said. Secondly, Cristina says, "Saving all my words only for you to forgive me." So yes, she wants to be forgiven, for what, who can tell? I agree with the love angle, that she loves this person so much, & would even do something wrong for them. "I'm so near to commit a crime", but their oblivious to her & how she feels. However, it could be different types of love. The love of a partner, or the love of a parent. I had a relationship like that with my mother. I did everything to gain her approval, but could never get it. When she abandoned my family almost 3 years ago, I finally, slowly started to see the light, & have given up on her. I've finally gained some strength, enough of it to walk away from her. Anyway, great vocals, great song, just beautiful! As a side note: I saw them on Ozzfest 06, & they were greeeeat! Andreas kept encouraging everyone to come closer to the stage! & I love his vocals as well. Soft & gentle when spoken, or growling & raspy, he can pull it off nicely! We couldn't get any closer, but it was wonderful to feel like they appreciated us all! Cristina never stopped, just one great ball of energy the entire time! I love these guys!

Oh man I love this song! This is definatly my all time fav. by my all time fav. band. But it kind of sucks because nobody knows who they are, yet they have so much talent and potential. This song is one of those that give you the chills and a rush of adrenaline.

As cheren28 stated previously, this (along with everything by this band) is a song that I can listen to over and over without ever getting bored. While Night wish (at least in my opinion) reek of pretension, Lacuna Coil sound like a band who’s aim was to make great music and not to make great publicity, from having a female vocalist. If Lacuna Coil have a failing it is the male vocals. They just are not strong enough to provide a foil for Christina's operatic style. In a lesser band, his voice would fit in perfectly, but when your female counterpart is Christina Scabbia, unless you are classically trained or can pull off death metal grows like Randy Blithe or Howard Jones, you serve only as a spring board for her to jump-shit on you.

I think this deals with someone leaving a loved one and trying to convince themselves that they don't have anymore feelings even though it's obvious they do

There are a couple different ways this can go, but it's obviously about being alone. It's far, far easier to be lonely by yourself than it is to be lonely among other people. Anyone who's ever wished more than anything not to be alone knows exactly how feels to be the odd person out in a group, or to be surrounded by a world filled with people who don't care about you because they care about someone else. Worst is being physically close to someone and still feeling alone, because you want someone to care for, and you know they aren't that person, or because you care for them and know they don't care for you. This song is about loving someone immensely and knowing you can never, ever let them know, because you know they don't feel the same way and you care more about them or more about their friendship than you do about your own feelings. There's some interesting duality in the lyrics, particulary as it isn't clear why the person wants to be forgiven. Forgive me for falling in love with you? Forgive me for doing something wrong? Forgive myself for feeling this way? Is the person looking back and seeing all this, and wishing they'd kept their feelings to themselves? It's probably not that specific, anyway. The song conveys a feeling, the lyrics most likely aren't all intended to represent anything in particular.
