| I agree with the people who say it's about a break up. It has the same meaning for me, which unfortunately brings back memories of what once was. I just think it's a great song, it's the first Lacuna coil song I've heard, and I just think everything about it great. The lyrics, (though I'm not a good judge) the instruments, the vocals, and it just blends well with my taste. | |

| for all of those idiots who say "ooh this song is about god" you are wrong it says "your heaven's lie" not "heaven is a lie" its talking about your own happieness like you stoped loveing someone and they still think you love them so,their happieness is a lie | |

| I think Lacuna Coil was pretty brave to release this as a single because so many religious idiots will take it to be anti-christian and an attack on their beliefs...just because they are too stupid to actually read the lyrics | |

| For me this song is about a relationship breaking up. Set me free your Heaven's a lie means (to me) that the other person is making promises they cant keep and the heaven-like feelings you get with a relationship are gone. This song couldn't be less about God if it tried. | |

| (crap, I messed up with my last comment. Here's the rest of what I was going to say). this song sort of reminds of how much better things look from afar than when you actually have them. Relationships for example. You want the other person, and you think they're so great and so completely flawless, but you don't really know them. You assume all these things because you're so caught up in the (phsyical) attraction that you forget that you've never really taken the time to get to know the person for who they really are. So you wind up making all these assumptions that they're this beautiful/perfect person,so that when you actually get with them, you realize that being with them isn't as great as you thought it would be. Therefore realizing that your new-found heaven is a lie...if you don't get this its cool, because I'm talknig about how much my ex sucks, but yeah, whatever. | |
