I personally believe that this band(mainly Christina, she is the lyricist) have issues with religion. I think that she believes that GOD is hiding from her.(So fine it is knowing you're under the shade) I think that she also wants to go to heaven.(Who wants to deny forever?) I dunno, Christina is a beautiful, strange woman. This interpretation is just what I got out of it.

"Delighthing minds with my shadow Rely on your way to grow You want to decide from your cloud You're lost in a world that I have to repair" I think its about a relationship. A destructive one. One lover is trying to decide if he/she should leave but can't make up their mind since they are blinded by love. "You want it all the greatest smile Who wants to deny forever? You're made of ice I pay the price for all you unforgiveness" Its a controlling relationship. One expects the other to be perfect but he/she doesn't like that they are being controlled. they pay for their lover's mistakes "Enlighting lies with my shame Beneath the veil of your flow Don't try to deny with your mouth So fine it is knowing you're under the shade" one lover won't care if he/she lied, just as the other never finds out

I'm an Evanesccence fan but I also quite like Lacuna Coil especially the Comalies album. I took this song as being more personal and not a statement on shallow celebrity types like everybody's fool even though i get why the connection would be made.

i agree, it seems to me a lot of the lines could most definitely be refering to religion.

This song kinda reminds me or Everybodys Fool by Evanescence(sorry to you Ev havers out there), because it seems to be about someone who is popular or thinks she is better than everyone else. Perhaps the singer used to be friends with this person, but she became a total bitch just to become popular. I think the line about being under the shade is about darkness(lies) covering you, and living the way the singer does, in the heat, is a completely truthful life. Beautiful song

Hmmm I don't interpret this song about religion. I think that this song is about a very self-destructive person who wants everything, and someone close to them is getting caught up in it. The main thing that makes me think this is the voice over at the beginning 'Self-destruct sequence activated' and also the name of the song 'Tight Rope', like this person is walking dangerously and could fall at any time. Things like 'a world that I have to repair' and 'I pay the price' are about how someone else is having to deal with the mess that this person is leaving behind.
