| This track is completely entrancing! I believe it is a love song! Gabriel is a loved one. "I can fly but I want his wings" - the writer knows she can get along without Gabriel, but she wants and "craves" for his light, craves for him. The most beautiful line "revel in the songs that he sings" - she loves him so much that she revels in his love and "never wants to part". I always thought this would be a beautiful song to walk down the aisle to... it is so beautiful and haunting! | |

| When I listen to this song, I like to close my eyes.. and it feels like I'm standing at a cliff over the ocean. I don't know, kinda like an Icarus & Daedalus scenario? Anyway.. I think everybody wants their Angel to love. | |

| Hey, doesn't anuone feel like this song is about the actual angel Gabriel? Or God himself? Personally, i think this isn't the only Lamb's song relating to religious topics. What do you think? | |

| i think this song was about her dream man and her not being able to find him and even though she has found somebody who comes close, she still doesn't want to give up on "Gabriel". | |

| As far as i'm aware the song was written by lou rhodes about her newly born son ( pregnant when recording the "What Sound" album ) Such a beautiful track and so universal - Its a pure love song at its most simple - Stunning track | |

| man im glad im not insane - I think this song is KIND of sad TOO lol! as far as tonal-wise lol. it is about craving something, but rejecting it because you can. its not neccisarily a bad thing. tho it can be lonely.. like some people becoming so desperate - that one can say MONEY is their angel. its what they need - basic survival. 'i can fly but i want his wings' u want that lift feeling that Love gives u. 'i can love but i need his heart' - u need some one to NEED u like u need that money to survive..its like needing air to breath this is why most relationships break apart - we all need a friend tho and thats how most relationships grow - go figure. they crave a human being to be with..and depending on ur values it can get pretty dramatic..and sad. | |

| this song is amazing. I want it played at my funeral. It's haunting and beautiful. I'm not quite sure what it means. I think it's about love, someone she's fell in love with but it has biblical references so it might have some religious undertones. | |

| God, this song is so brilliant. When she says "wings" and it echoes, it sends shivers down my spine and I feel all goosebump-y wonderful. XD So, what I think this song is about is the speaker (not necessarily the lady singing, god forgive me that I don't know her name) has found the one she feels that she's destined to be with, this "Gabriel" fella, but she's a strong woman and she doesn't want to change her lifestyle. She knows that she can make it without him even though she wants to be with him, thus the "I am strong even on my own / But from him I never want to part ". She's torn between giving in to what she really wants, a life with him, and the comfort of the life she's lived because she knows she'll be fine by herself. She also knows though, that being with him will give her something she's never had before, "I can love / But I need his heart ". So, I think it's ultimately about the speaker lady struggling to deny the love she feels for this man and failing in the end. After all, how could you deny your love for an angel? ^_^ And that's my little bit... | |

| I think this song is about being in denial about something that happened to you, and trying to get over it, by convincing yourself that you are better than you think you are. (I also think it is truly about the angel Gabriel) | |
