yo, holymetalhead. The name Lamb of God is a joke. When the band was called Burn the Priest they couldn't get any venues because that was so satanic, so they as a joke they called themselves Lamb of God. Its IRONIC... its tongue in cheek. go listen to evanescence if you want jesusmusic. don't know if this is a remotely close to correct interpretation, but for me it symbolized the end of anything painful. And moving past it. And accepting what is and moving on. I listened to this fucker over 50 times in the week after my girlfriend dumped me... its about stuff like that. just get past it and move on, no matter how much it hurts.

we can fucking argue about lamb of gods spiritualliy till the end of time but it doesnt fucking matter.....peopel interpret songs the way they want to...if a christain person wants to conform every song on here ot their ideas...thats great.....if a atheist wants to do the same....great.....not everybody will ever believe one thing....get hte fuck over it

i think its fucking ridiculous, so lets not even kid ourselves. "undertones" refers to something implied. this whole album is just a fucking blatant attack on george bush. no offense or anything, i dont love george bush (even if i like him better than kerry), but when a guy wears shirts a few days in a row that basically just say "fuck bush" i think its pretty obvious. i love the attitude of lamb of god's songs. theyre just like... completely pissed off time to kill somebody music, but the lyrics are repetitive and all about... of course.. once people hear something like this they take every single motherfucking line and try to interpret it as "george bush sucks". and i wont start preaching politics because politics are for asswipes, but here. i think this song is just about a relationship that went bad. in fact i think i read that in an interview somewhere or something. anyway... yeah... this is exactly how it feels. "better off empty and blank than left with a single pathetic trace of this" "destroy yourself... see who gives a fuck" etc. pretty much all of the lines are like that. this song is one of the few that doesnt seem, to me, to be an attack on gwb. anyway whatever. no offense meant at all to the person who used the word undertones... i just thought it was kinda funny when i read it :D

well, i still think it's at least partly about the mind struggling to free itself from religion, seeing as "the truth shall set you free" is straight out of the bible, and in essence a person gets chained to the "truth" by the things they are taught by religious authorities throughout their lives. regarding the chorus, i think this is a little harder to disect, but i think of it like this, people often feel that god can console themselves, i think that the chorus is somebody speaking to religious person, saying, "look what this thing has done to you, trust me, everything you need is within yourself, you don't need this to get by, you're better by yourself". the next line is like, "look we don't care that this thing is ripping you apart". next line, "keep your problems to yourself, because we honestly can't help you. these are things you've got to figure out yourself, and neither us nor religion can save you." next line is a repeat of the the second. In my opinion this song's anti religious pinnings are fairly obvious, but then again, that's just me
