TAB: Bring It On Home (Led Zeppelin)

This is the tab for Zep's cover of a Willie Dixon tune...enjoy!

"Bring It On Home" by Willie Dixon, as arranged by Led Zeppelin
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Intro: moderate blues tempo; two eighth notes are played like a quarter and an
eighth under the little triplet bracket
/3- /3- /3- /3-
|---------------------|---------------------|
|---------------------|---------------------|
|---------------------|---------------------| Repeat several hundred times
|---------------------|---------------------|
|-2--2-4--4-2-------2-|-2--2-4--4-2-------2-|
|-0--0-0--0-0--0-3h4--|-0--0-0--0-0--0-3h4--|
|---------------------|---------------------|
|---------------------|---------------------|
|---------------------|---------------------| Repeat once
|-2--2-4--4-2-------2-|-2--2-4--4-2-------2-|
|-0--0-0--0-0--0-3h4--|-0--0-0--0-0--0-3h4--|
|---------------------|---------------------|
|---------------------|---------------------|
|---------------------|---------------------|
|---------------------|---------------------| Repeat once
|---------------------|---------------------|
|-2--2-4--4-2-------2-|-2--2-4--4-2-------2-|
|-0--0-0--0-0--0-3h4--|-0--0-0--0-0--0-3h4--|
|---------------------|---------------------|
|---------------------|---------------------|
|---------------------|---------------------|
|---------------------|---------------------|
|-9--9-11-11-9-9-11-9-|-7--7-9--9-7--7-9--7-|
|-7--7-7--7--7-7-7--7-|-5--5-5--5-5--5-5--5-|
|---------------------|---------------------|
|---------------------|---------------------|
|---------------------|---------------------|
|-7--7-7--7--7-7-7--7-|-5--5-5--5-5--5-5--0-|
Now, it gets a bit slower, although it sounds faster because sixteenth notes
are now used....The eighth and sixteenth notes are now played evenly.
|--------------------------|--------------------------|
|--------------------------|--------------------------|
|-------------4--2p1-2p1---|-------------4--2p1-2-----| Play four times
|-----0h2----------------2-|-----0h2------------------|
|-0h2----------------------|-0h2----------------------|
|---------0----------------|---------0----------------|
^^^
Those are 16th notes
For the verses, it basically seems to go E7, A7, E7 (quarter notes).
E7 A7 E7
|-0---0---0------------|
|-0---2---0------------|
|-1---0---1------------|
|-0---2---0------------|
|-2---0---2------------|
|-0-------0---3-0------|
^
I usually bend that up a little...it's kind of a cool effect.
And in between verses (again)....
|--------------------------|--------------------------|
|--------------------------|--------------------------|
|-------------4--2p1-2p1---|-------------4--2p1-2-----| Play four times
|-----0h2----------------2-|-----0h2------------------|
|-0h2----------------------|-0h2----------------------|
|---------0----------------|---------0----------------|
Then it slows down quite a bit (this is like the intro)....
|---------------------|---------------------|
|---------------------|---------------------|
|---------------------|---------------------|
|---------------------|---------------------|
|-9--9-11-11-9-9-11-9-|-7--7-9--9-7--7-9--7-|
Lyrics
~~~~~
Intro:
Ba-a-a-a-aby,
Ba-a-a-a-aby,
Gonna bring it on home to you.
I've got my ticket, I've got that load.
Got up, gone higher, all aboard.
Take my seat, right way back.
Ooh, yeah,
Watch this train roll down the track.
Gonna bring it on home,
Bring it on home to you.
Watch out, watch out.

Verses:
Try to tell you, baby,
What you tryin' to do?
Tryin' to love me, baby,
Love some other man, too.
Bring it on home,
Bring it on home.

Went a little walk downtown,
Messed and got back late.
Found a little note there waitin'.
It said, "Daddy, I just can't wait."
Bring it on home,
Bring it back home,
Bring it on home,
Bring it back home to me, baby.

Tell you, pretty baby,
Love to mess me 'roun'.
I'm gonna give you lovin', baby,
Gonna move you out of town.
Bring it on home,
Bring it on home.

Sweetest little thing
Daddy ever saw.
I'm gonna give you lovin', baby,
I'm gonna give you more.
Bring it on home,
Bring it on home,
Bring it on home,
Oh, yeah.

Outro:
Bring it on home,
Bring it on home to you.

This is the way to play this, because it leaves you in good shape to play the
chords, which are

----2--0-----------2--0------------*|
----2--0-----------2--0-------------|
----2--0--0-h2-----2--0--0-f2-p2---*|

All I can say is: brilliant. It's hard to say what it's about, because I usually put Led songs into what they mean to me. Great song, makes me mad I didn't comment on it a while back, one of my top lists.

This is just fantastic. My favorite Zeppelin song and damn near my favorite song period. The live version from the DVD is a little dissappointing but still great.
