| Speaking of weird, Roy Harper is described as a real weirdo. He toured with Zeppelin briefly and could often be seen in the wings just off-stage shaking a rubber gorilla while they played. | |

| Jeez! Come on guys! Fellow worshippers of the mighty Zep! I'm only 15 but two months or so after getting into Zep I was into the blues. It's such in instrumental part of what they were. When the Levee Breaks is a cover of an old blues track by Memphis Minnie and Kansas Joe. Gallows Pole was a Leadbelly cover. They covered Robert Johnson himself, and his lyrics were in the Lemon Song. HOTRH has that acoustic, raw blues about it and it's fantastic! | |

| I like this song too. It's odd. But it's so...realistic I guess. I mean people actually do that. I love the ending. It's so. I don't even know how to explain it. I also didn't know who Roy Harper was until today. I love Pink Floyd as well. So that's interesting. | |

| Anyone who doesn't know who Roy Harper is, if you've heard "Have A Cigar" by Pink Floyd(great song), that is Roy singing the song. | |

| I am a huge Zeppelin fan...but I think this is the worst Zeppelin song. And there are very few Zep songs I dislike. | |

| You don't like what Zeppelin liked if you don't like this song. It's not their best but I think it's decent. Cracks me up when he says--"no monkey....sho caint climb no tree" | |

| They're similar because the lyrics from both of them come from a song by Bukka White called "Shake 'em on Down". | |

| ive never herd this song before but i noticed the similarities to "Custard Pie". Look at the lines from it..."Put on your night shirt and your morning gown You know by night I'm gonna shake 'em down Put on your night shirt Mama, and your morning gown Well, you know by night I'm gonna shake 'em down"....thats almost the same as "Listen mama, Put on your mornin' gown', Put in your nightshirt Mama we gonna shake 'em down" from this song. Does anyone know why these songs are so similiar lyrically? | |

| To my understanding, Led Zeppelin recorded this song because they admired the way Roy Harper didn't sell out. He stood by what he felt was right. Roy Harper later showed his appreciation by donating the sleeve photograph for Physical Graffiti. | |

| I like this song alot. I don't know why. The lyrics are pretty odd, different... old kind of blues-ish. But I really like the way Plant sings the song. For a while I couldn't make out too much of what he was saying but it reminded me of a dark old and out dated place... someone just singing in front of a crowd... nothing like new music, but that's why I liked it. | |
