And now I think it's time to show the chords of this song for
those of you who do not know them, never heard of them and so on.
I know that it's a pain to write them all down but I thoght for
a second just how I felt, when I started playing guitar, when I
was playing a song and suddenly there it was , the weirdest name
for a chord I've ever seen and didn't know how to play it.I had
to go the music store to buy a book on chords and eventually I
learned the damm thing. Anyway this is for all those who are
begging to play the guitar but this chord names confuse you a lot.

It is simply a song about yoko, about how she showed him that there was more meaning to life than financial success, about how she understands the boy inside her man, she knew all of the fears that he hid deep down inside and helped him through all of it

yes! It was written for Yoko! But "for the other half of the sky" as well! John once said that "Woman should be obscene and not heard". He felt guilty, realizing that his MOTHER gave birth to him! So he wrote this song for us women! Maybe apologizing for what he had said.

This song sounds like a beautiful 50's song. It reminds me of Back to the Future for some reason. I always knew this song but I never knew it was by John Lennon which was wierd. But then I heard it on the Lennon Legend album and wow, great song

The women weep like children who don’t tell you Deep … light … And when they laugh—a glittering song They can speak love’s words without even knowing themselves They are lying … The women—rave into night and legend Without leaving a trace I have never known of so fierce a dancing Give me your hand Winter is a hard thing in a strange country Perhaps we still have a long way to go I keep imagining you are spending the night in a strange castle Writing a letter by candlelight—and smiling Maybe someday, you will come back from the war You will dance away the worry—the war—the uneasy nights Your heart is always a warrior Even though it bears no weapons. [paraphrased poetry]

I can't believe I'm only the sixth person to comment on this most beautiful of songs. Every man that has ever been in love should be able to relate to John this song. It's that fantastic feeling of realizing the girl of your dreams is your saviour and it is because of them you are the person you are today. Beautiful song, chokes me up everytime.

im new on here, but, i'm amazed so little people have commented on this song. I love Love this song, along with the rest of John's songs. It should be special to all woman. I remember at the start of the video for this, he says this is for Yoko but all Women as well. I think that it is so cool he thought so highly of women.

One of the most beautiful love songs written in the pop era. I remember what I was doing when I learned that Lennon was murdered. This song was released not long afterwards. At the time I didn't think much of the song (I was only 13), but as I grew older I better understood its meaning. It is sad to realize that a great poet was silenced when he had so much more to say to us.
