Just in case someone is inquiring about the meaning, here's my two obvious cents. It's about a relationship enduring great trial or hardship.

Okay, I have the John Lennon Collection CD, and this song is on it, but he does not sing it. It is a Ben E. King song. John produced it, but does that really make it a John Lennon song? Anyway, it's a really beautiful song.

I'm a HUGE Beatles and John Lennon fan. John Lennon is my favorite Beatle. But I just DON"T KNOW the reason why they separated for 15 months!!!!!!

An amazing cover equal to Ben E. King's and Pennywise's version. All three covers of this deadly song are one of my favourites ever if not my favourite.

Although I do like the song, and I think the music is very beautiful, I think John's voice might be a little too rough for the subject matter. The vocals sound weird (not the voice, but the production), so that might contribute to it. Otherwise, it's a standout track.

this is a great cover. i agree with an above comment, this version is far more demanding, something you'd expect from john lennon. john lennon is so brilliant!

Apart from All Along the Watchtower by Jimi Hendrix, this has to be the greatest cover version of all time. So moving to listen to.

This is definately the best version of this I have heard. Maybe it's because its John and he is the awesomeness, but he decided to make a cover of it over the Lost Weekend, and you can definately tell that he and Yoko were apart.
