Motown Never Sounded So Good
by Less Than Jake

tabbed by FreddyFox (6-18-2003)
Standard Tuning: EADGBe

This song is quite easy..! The only possible difficulty is the strumming, so just listen
to it carefully to get it. :)

Verse 1
Bridge
Chorus
Verse 1 / Verse 2
Bridge
Chorus
Horn Solo Backing
alternative Chorus
Chorus
End

Verse 1 (clean ska)

e|--------------------
B|---8--6--4--6-------
G|---8--6--5--6------- 4x
D|---8--6--6--6-------
A|---6--4--6--4-------
E|---------4----------

At the third time a second Guitar plays the first chord with a Flanger effect (I think)
just when the first guitar changes to the second chord.

Bridge (clean ska)

e|---------------------------
B|---6--4--2--4--6--4--------
G|---6--5--3--5--6--5--------
D|---6--6--4--6--6--6--4--6--
A|---4--6--4--6--4--6--2--4--
E|------4--2--4-----4--------

Chorus (distortion)

e|--------------------------- |---------------------
B|--------------------------- |---------------------
G|---8--5-------------------- 2x |---8--6-----6-------- 1x
D|---8--5--3--5--6--11------- |---8--6--6--6--------
A|---6--3--3--5--6--11------- |---6--4--6--4--------
E|---------1--3--4---9------- |---------4-----------

A second Guitar plays (again) the last chord (6-6-4) with a Flanger effect
just when the first does the same (without Flanger)

Verse 1 (clean ska) | Verse 2 (clean ska)
|
e|-------------------- |
B|---8--6--4--6------- |
G|---8--6--5--6------- 2x | When the beat is going faster (Text: "Does it feel like a broken record"),
D|---8--6--6--6------- | you have to play the same chords like in Verse 1, but have to strum every
A|---6--4--6--4------- | chord longer. You also have to play it a bit faster, I think. Just try it
E|---------4---------- | out.
|

Bridge (now with distortion)

e|--------------------------------
B|--------------------------------
G|--------------------------------
D|---6-------3---3----6-----4--6--
A|---4--6--3-3-3-3-3--4--6--2--4--
E|------4--1-1-1-1-1-----4--------

Chorus (distortion)

e|---------------------------
B|---------------------------
G|---8--5-------------------- 2x
D|---8--5--3--5--6--11-------
A|---6--3--3--5--6--11-------
E|---------1--3--4---9-------

(The last chord is played longer)

Horn Solo Backing

e|------------------------------ |---------------
B|------------------------------ |---------------
G|---8--6-----6-----6----------- 3x |---8--6-------- 1x
D|---8--6--6--6--6--6--6-------- |---8--6--4--6--

E|---------------------------------44-444-4--------------

Guitar 2

G|-----------------------
D|-----653---------------
A|-----4316--------------

Chorus (distortion)

*phew* Was a piece of hard work.. It sure isn't 100%-ly correct, because it's my first

but it should be ok. If you have any comments, please eMail me (FreddyFox@gmx.net) !!

And you need, A brand new face, To match a brand new place. I had a different interepretation. I thought it meant that this person had changed their personality, values and goals. I took it as the person becoming a whole new person, because they were in a whole new place.

this song is great .. basically it's just saying that you should make life count instead of watching it go by
