Its about Carl and Petes' friendship. Which has been going through some bad times. "You shut me out and try to blame it on the brown". Is a reference to Pete already having been kicked out the band once before his current absence due to his drug abuse. Brown is slang for heroin.

I love the harmonica solo at the end of this song. It sort of sounds like it doesn't fit in with the music, but sounds so damn great at the same time.

Really? Okay, maybe I was a little harsh then, but I still think they're a bit of a 2nd rate Clash. Better than most stuff you see on MTV anyway. So I apologize for the statement, but I stand by the feelings behind it.

i love this song, i think its one of their best songs. its about a relationship that pete had with a close friend and he feels left out because of his heroin fancy, he had already been hucked out the band before! babyshambles are good as well!

in the wake of the libertines split this song seems slightly prophetic...the toubles between carl and pete had obviously been there for a while and the split was inevitable. they are apparently back on speaking terms now so hopefully we will see and end to babyshambles and a return of the libertines
