All the chords are pretty simple, but there are a lot of changes so sorry
if this is really messy & confusing.
When i say, for example, Em x4, i mean four bars of Em.

the line 'if you were late you musn't dare complain' always sticks in my head, and i don't really know why. i pretty much agree with everyone else on this song.

Um, according to Fabrizio Moretti, when he met Pete and Carl in 2001, Pete offered him some acid and I doubt that SPIN would include that in an article if it wasn't true. Pete was doing drugs during Up The Bracket. And this song is my new favourite by The Libs, I think it's about tabloids and such, but since this was before they were famous I doubt it. Maybe just about being betrayed by someone.

I think its to do with petes paranoia about carl running with the cool set and he's left feeling delusioned and he won't feel anything but out of place. just what i think though.

this is the best Libertines song. the best line has to be "your like a journalist the way you can cut and paste and twist; your awful" its got to be about love... and the raw tradgedy of some love. love so hopeless and futile, and heartbreaking... and bitter resentment, and hate, but still love. which is what makes it so perfect, the fact he resigned himself to love her, and knows she loves someone else, and the fact he has failed. and how, at the end he doesnt really care what she does anymore, because he knows its hopeless. wonderful
