| I've given up as well, on Linkin Park. This album is terrible, they are trying to imitate NiN and U2 and they totally lost their unique sound. Bleh. | |

| Pretty much, if you're an LP fan, you know they've always been about doing what they think sounds good. I loved all their other works, but I'm glad they went with something different. You can't stay static and expect for it to keep working. The new cd as a whole is definitely strong and more of a true rock cd, but music is all about tastes so if you don't like it, then whatever, just can't hate on a band because they don't sound the same all the time. Oh and that question that comes up a lot- WHAT HAPPENED... WHY LESS MIKE?! He's doing more backup singing and rhythm guitar. It's why there's actually some great Delson solos now, and why Chester's getting more freedom with his insane vocal range. Plus, when have they ever REALLY just forced his raps into a song? | |

| If you're a true hardcore fan of Linkin Park, and have listened to them since or before Chester was added to make Linkin Park instead of Hybrid Theory, you'd like them no matter their sound. I do not think that they are trying to imitate U2 or NIN at all. This is more of Chester's album, rather than Shinoda's. | |

| @tempflux: you are totally wrong, give them their space, this is different than their other albums, but its still them.. and its still good.. maybe its not as good, but its new.. i myself got bored of their old albums, not because they're bad, but because they're the same style, i listened to it over and over.. they needed to change, try something new. | |

| They DID do too many soft songs... if anything, this is the hardest one on the album, which I find rather dissappointing... I understand that they wanted something different but the only problem I think is that they're so different now that they lost something... There's defintely a lot less of Joe Hahn's work, and Mike's rapping. Once or twice as I was going through the songs I thought, "They just put that in there to give Mike a chance, didn't they?", which I found completely... bad. Sure, it gives a chance for the rest of the band to play, but they've always done that. Take the song "Faint" and "Lying From You" and even "By Myself". Those all had fantastic blends of guitar and Hahn, both balanced equally, as well as Mike and Chester. The old stuff was superb. Sure, I will admit that I got bored of it after a while, but that was only because I had listened to those songs so many times that I knew every single part, and when you know every single part, it gets... dull. I'm not talking about the sound itself. Just if you know every single lyric, the moment where the guitar comes in, the beat of the drum, everything like that that you can recall from heart... it just gets a little boring. So I was anticipating Minutes to Midnight for quite a while, hoping that something new and spectacular would come out. The new part came out all right, but the spectacular part... I'm not so sure about. Has anybody noticed that Mike actually did SING, not RAP on "In Between"? I found that just a teensy bit surprising. He doesn't sing that bad, although in an interview he said he does. ^_^ SONG MEANING: My bet is that the guy is sick of living his life because he's screwed it all up. The second verse really gets it with, "I don't know what to take", like as in drugs or something to make him feel better. And well, he does say, "I'm my own worst enemy", meaning that he's the one that did what he did to himself and that he's the only one that can change that. Well... I'm out. Rori OH! I almost forgot... Has anyone but me noticed that, lyrically, all the songs have the line, "No one cares" or "I don't care" or something like that? Because I did, and my immeadiate first thought was, "Dude... that's so emo!" Not that I'm calling them emo. It's just... that doesn't seem like LP would normally say. I don't know. They re-wrote the lyrics a bajillion times, so maybe they got lost in there and finally put, "Whatever, I don't care", and the end.... | |

| I like a few of LP's new songs, alot of them are a step in the right direction for the band, but others just sound like LP is trying to force the whole new sound. I do miss all of Mike's rapping but he wrote alot of the songs on this album and he also is playing guitar now so I guess its all good. this song is about someone who doesnt like who they are and want to change but feel like they are stuck inside of their fake self and theyve given up trying to find out what is wrong with themself | |

| I don't get it. People get pissed when a band changes their sound (e.g Metallica, Slipknot, Mudvayne) but it's the same people that complain about bands sounding the same. Make up your fuckin minds. If the music sounds good then listen to it. Stop paying attention to the band itself and listen to the music for what it's meant for....to actually listen to the music. | |

| Chester said in an interview on the AOL sessions that they don't really have their own meanings to any of their songs. They feel that all their songs have a different meaning to different people which makes the songs more personal to the people. LP does not just make great music but they make great music for a great reason which really gets me about the band. | |

| I think the new album is great, the only thing missing is mike shinoda's rapping, but if you look back at Reanimation or Collision Course, even Meteora, Chester didn't have much time on the tracks. So here he comes. Besides Mike's done Fort Minor so I think he doesn't mind. This album is more about Chester, I think. But it's good, especially given up. It reminds me of One Step Closer. It's fast and and sounds very angry. | |

| Finally, an fast, upbeat song with plenty of scream time. Chester lets it all out on this track. This song seems to follow the theme that "Breaking The Habit" and "Somewhere I Belong" and "By Myself" run along. | |

| Are you guys seriously waiting for another Hybrid theory or Meteora? It's been done, every song sounds allmost te same, you cannot deny that. Just give this album a chance. It's not ok for them to just keep relying on the same old formula, they need to try different things just like any other band needs to. | |

| I think this is the best song of the CD. I have VERY mixed feelings on this album. I think it's very soft and powerful but, I think they did too many soft songs. It would have been better with more high energy songs like What I've Done, Given Up, and Bleed It Out. I think it's a nice change and I like that there is less rapping, yet they still did a couple but it's still good. I still don't really now what I think of the CD yet. | |

| okay so this is one of my favorite songs on the new cd. i actually like that this cd is totally different than the other ones. all of their other albums were amazing dont get me wrong but the songs started to sound alike afer awhile. but i love the change and i love chester singing (and screaming) a lot more in this one. so i think this song is about someone stuck in a situation that they cant get out of. and they try but its too hard so they have just given up on trying and just dont wanna take it anymore and they want someone to help them get out but the person doesnt care or doesnt want to help. thats my interpretation of it. i kinda relate it to myself but as LP sed: u can interprate the songs any way u want. | |

| Chester Mike Chester Mike Mike Chester Mike Mike. Don't get me wrong, I love those two.. BUT have any of you even noticed more (a lot more, actually) of Brad, Phi, and Rob? Less of Mr Hahn? LP's more than just Chester and Mike. I'm not complining, I am absolutly in-fucking-love with the new album. I, infact, was too getting ready to give up on them. I want to shoot myself because it sounds like I'm dissing LP, but I must admit that I agree one hundred percent with weszOr. They've done it before. Meteora was HT with a twist.. ADMIT IT. Again, I'm not dissing Meteora or LP. I, being an art major, loved that CD. The whole "work in process" theme made me like LP even more. I'm just rambling now. It all comes down to this: I love the direction in which they're heading. ROCK ON! That's my opinion. If you don't like it.. heeeey. Whatever floats your boat. | |
