| I am a Christian, but I don't think this song has anything to do with God or heaven. It appears to me to be a simple love song...and an ossum one at that. Ed is Buddhist...so unlike most people seem to think, he doesn't write too much about God because I ditched the church a long time ago (hence Selling the Drama was written)... | |

| good analysis, eyecon. i initially thought it was a song protesting the prevelance of cookie-cutter popuar music. he talks about breaking the mold, and pissing in the mainstream (showing their disrespect for the kind of stuff which is popular today) "open up your cage, focus all your rage" could mean to let your emotions into your songs, rather than playing it safe and going with the radio friendly stuff. but i think your idea is more apt. | |

| Well....I don't know what he is anymore, but I think he leans towards Buddhism. He ditched the church in high school. Then he went on to Buddhism, but in recent interviews I've heard him talking about love, God, Christ, and Buddha......so, yeah....Ed's weird....but cool. | |

| This has got to be my Favourite song, I listened to it for about 7 hours a day, 3 days in a row. I think this song is about how God loves everyone, and when your next to him (in Heaven) that you have earned your spot and the right to feel like you are a God too. | |

| Ed is a subcriber to the Integral philosophy. Check out Ken Wilber's books to learn more about that. | |

| Ed wants people to be politically involved. "Where are the boys of Live? Pissin in the mainstream." He's talking about how they're always stirring things up. Then he goes and praises some other rockers who have done the same (Bono, Springsteen...suprised Morrissey didn't make the list...), and I think at the same time he's bragging about how that's what rock and roll is all about: protesting the way people think. "I finally broke their mold" This whole verse sounds like Ed's either dreaming about what it'd be like if nobody stood up for what was right and the bad guys won all of the power, or he's dreaming of a day when the warriors finally have a place to speak. I'm not sure which. "Whatever it's gonna take. Good luck! Keep it real." He's saying that you need to keep things real - true - honest no matter what and good luck with that. | |

| I don't think this is about God in the way the above person mentioned. I think it's about love with another person, in this case, a man's love for a woman. EK feels like a god in relation to his wife. Alot of Christians think we will have a similar relationship to God when we get to heaven. And that what we experience with women is just a showcase for what we will experience in heaven. | |
