Maker of children who weep for love

ītil your deepest secrets are known to me
I will not be moved
I will not be moved

brother let your heart be wounded
and give no mercy to your fear"

adam and eve live down the street from me
babylon is every town
itīs as crazy as its ever been
loveīs a stranger all around

and lay our spirits down
today we lived a thousand years
all we have is now

run to the water
and find me there
burnt to the core but not broken
weīll cut through the madness
of these streets below the moon
these streets below the moon

and I will never leave you
ītil we can say. "this world was just a dream
we were sleepinī now we are awake"
ītil we can stay

in a moment we lost our minds here
and dreamt the world was round
a million mile fall from grace
thank god we missed the ground

run to the water
and find me there
burnt to the core but not broken
weīll cut through the madness
of these streets below the moon
with a nuclear fire of love in our hearts

yeah, I can see it now lord
out beyond all the breakinī of waves
and the tribulation
itīs a place and the home of ascended souls
who swam out there in love!

Solo: C G Am F C G F G

Chorus: D A Bm G

Run to the water
And find me there
Burnt to the core but not broken
Weīll cut through the madness
of these streets below the moon
with a nuclear fire of love in our hearts
rest easy baby, rest easy
and recognize it all as light and rainbows
smashed to smithereens and be happy
run to the water (and find me there)
run to the water

the video for this song is awesome! they all act as heroes. When it begins to rain and they all celebrate it chokes me up everytime.

"the nuclear fire of live" seems like a direct metaphor for the spiritual phenomena known as Kundalini Shakti, quite litereally. This song is profoundly influenced by Ed's devotion to Adidam. EG. "This all as light and rainbows smashed to smitherines." A reference to the Fundamental Broken light that Adi Da often talks about.

I too never saw the video but thought this song definately rocked. I think Beautiful Sound nailed with the statement about how listeners who were not familar with LIVE were a bit overwelmed by the opening lyrics as they are not the typical catch phrase lyrics often found on the airways. I feel sad for those who quickly changed the station as they missed out on such a mind-blowing song.

To me, it seems like this song is pretty self-explanatory, so I won't go into too much of an analysis. I'd say it's about turning to redemption after this life has gotten us down. But here's my favorite lyric: "A million mile fall from grace/All we have is now". All in all, this is an awesome song.

"With a nuclear fire of love in our hearts ": I think these words express the origin of all their songs - "a nuclear fire of love" - that's what makes it so strongly emotional, so powerfull and so deep! Love LIVE for that!

The reason this song was not played on the radio, is becuase the begining lyrics, (and i mean right in the begining) are intended soley for live fans, and anybody who is not familiar with Live would become uncomfortable listening to them and would believe them to be phony lyrics.... To emotional in the begining for non-live fans.

I always interpreted this song, or at least the first part, to be a conversation with "mother nature" or "goddess". Oh desert speak to my heart Oh woman of the earth Maker of children who weep for love Maker of this birth 'Til your deepest secrets are known to me I will not be moved I will not be moved ^ Here is is demanding answers from "her". Then "she" replies (notice his voice pitch is higher, so it sounds more feminine): Don't try to find the answer When there ain't no question here Brother let your heart be wounded And give no mercy to your fear And "she" tells him to run to the water and find her there, to find her in nature, burnt to the core (by what mankind has done to the environment) but not broken. Yeah, i can see it now lord Out beyond the breakin' of waves And the tribulation It's a place and a home of ascended souls this part, however, makes me think of the book of Revelations...? Adam and Eve live down the street from me Babylon is every town It's as crazy as its ever been Loves a stranger all around he's obviously just talking about the shitty state of the world. But the song is overall an optimistic one. But now I shall read up on what TheSleeper is talking about and it may change my views on the song.
