Intro:
||: B* A* E* A* Bb* :|| 2x
B* A*
Don't you feel so very pointless
E*
In the feelings of the rain
A* Bb*
And the violence of the sun
B* A*
I must confess that I feel graciously
E*
Bigger than the rain
A* Bb*
And hotter than the sun
B*
What did you do
A*
What do you say
E*
When the blood spilled is of your loved one
A
And the kremlins of the world fall around you
C#m F#
We deal in dreams, yeah
C#m F#
We deal in dreams
B* C#m F#
We deal in structures that grow cold in our hearts
B*
Oh fearful, crying people
A*
The fool is by the river
E* A* Bb*
Watching, but not swimming
B* A*
It takes energy not to get used to it
E*
And fall into this place
A* Bb*
Where everything runs together and dies
B* A*
This quiet kingdom she is now
E* A*
Forever will she be, in silent celebration
C#m F#
We deal in dreams, yeah
C#m F#
We deal in dreams
B* C#m F#
We deal in structures that grow cold in our hearts
C#m F#
We deal in dreams, yeah
C#m F#
We deal in dreams
B* C#m F#
We deal in structures that grow cold in our hearts
C#m F#
We deal in dreams, yeah
C#m F#
We deal in dreams
C#m F#
Structures that grow cold
C#m F#
Structures that grow cold
B* C#m F#
Structures that grow cold in our hearts, yeah
B* A* E* A* Bb*
B* A*
Don't you feel so very pointless
E*
In the feelings of the rain
A*
And the violence of the sun

| I think ElKarmaScaramouche is partly correct, but knowing the band's exploration of Krishnamurti philosophy (and indeed my own) I interpret it as an examination of how daily life wears us down and we take the things around us for granted. The message seems to be that we should instead be looking at the world around us in a different light and accepting its beauty and what it can offer us with questioning it. | |

| i think its about how reality bites, and the way to solve it is to resolve in dreams. | |

| They wrote this song (much more stripped down version) in the early nineties. It didn't make it on to one of the earlier albums, so 10 years later they dusted it off and remixed it. Sounds great. It might be about how social structures force us into particular ways of acting and living that may or may not be beneficial to us. | |
