Luscious Jackson Biography

Luscious Jackson ( 1991 in New York, NY- 2000) was an all-woman band named for a '60s basketball player for the Philadelphia 76ers ( Lucious Brown Jackson). The members were Kate Schellenbach (drums), Jill Cunniff (vocals, bass), Gabby Glaser (vocals, guitar), and Vivian Trimble (keyboards, vocals). They performed hip hop and dance inspired alternative music. They were the musical guest on numerous television shows in the 1990s, including Saturday Night Live and Viva Variety, and were part of 1994's Lollapalooza tour lineup.

Schellenbach and Cunniff met while Schellenbach was drummer for the Beastie Boys whom Cunniff was interviewing for her zine.

Trimble and Cunniff released a side project under the name Kostars in 1996. Trimble left Luscious Jackson after the second album, Fever In Fever Out.

Vivian Trimble and Josephine Wiggs (formerly of The Breeders) released an album under the name Dusty Trails in 2000.
