Machine Head - Davidian
Transcribed by:
n07h1ng (n07h1ng@yahoo.com)
Tuning:
This song is a bit different from other's because it isn't exactly tuned right.
I only figured this out after reading an article where Rob Flynn explained this.
The tuning is lower than a "dropped C" but higher than a "dropped B"
tuning.
I find the best way to get the correct tuning is use the first note of the song
to tune the low E string. Then using the low E string tune the other strings.
Notation:
* = harmonics
p.m. = palm mute
*This tab is not complete, but it should be more than enough to get you started.
And, for the song pattern, just use the riffs and listen to the song to figure it out.

| Wally is right, a Davidian is a follower of David Koresh. Some psycho, charles manson wanna-be, who started a big religous cult back in the early 90s. And they killed a few of their own, and when police came to investiage, the Davidians fired on the police. Was a huge shoot-out and like 20 or 30 people died. It happened in Waco, Texas in 1993. I'm sure Davidian has other meanings, but that is probably the most popular one. Good song though. | |

| I think its about how Robb Flynn feels that people who base their lives on what someone else says are weak (The Branch Davidians in the Waco compound were following Koresh, believing him to be a prophet from God). I agree with Strapping young Lad, the "blind man" is a person who lives their life according to a set of religious beliefs, and Flynn is saying that doing that means you are deniying the things that make us human (sexual desires, anger and stuff like that). | |

| "Let freedom ring with a shot gu blast", now u can c that in revolutional terms, but yet, what was the demise of kurt cobain?Not sayin this song has anything tod o wiv kurt,but it's da principle. Lookin at da blind man as a religious person who you are supposed to confess to right, but obviously flynn does not connect with religion, but he's using drugs as an escape "cyanide blood burns down the skyline"....but hey whatever it may mean to you... | |
