In the Presence of My Enemies
Tuning: -B -F# -B -E -G# -C#
Legend: /,: slide up, slide down; : natural harmonic; p: pull-off
I tabbed this song by ear a few months ago and went to this site later and found that every
song
from this album was hear except this one, so I typed it up. It should be at least close to
the
real thing on all parts. I didn't figure out the solo because it would have taken me ages
to do
it since certain parts are so fast. And I hate it when people submit a tab and they say they
"couldn't be bothered figuring out the solo." I mean who's bothering them? Anyway,
the song
starts with both guitars playing notes on the higher strings and sustaining them for
a long
time. The first is the 7th fret on the 3rd string, then the other guitar slides up from
the 3rd
fret to the 14th on the 3rd string. The first guitar later goes to the 9th fret, then the
14th.
After that, one guitar plays what sounds like a low B octave chord while the other does
the
following:
(0:53,1:44,2:48)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

------0-6-5-0-6-5-0-1-x-x-4-0-43---------------------------------------------------------------
(2:22,3:27) Note: In the second chorus, in the second half of this riff, one guitar plays
the
notes on the second string on the 6th fret while the other plays them on the 9th fret.

(3:52) One guitar plays the 6th, 5th and 4th strings open and lets that chord
ring while the other plays this clean:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

| Sounds to me like it's bashing anyone who takes someone's life - whether it be by declaring war or simply psychpathic acts of violence - and seeking the proverbial last laugh somehow. | |

| Wow there are quite a few personal songs on that album. You can tell in the emotion in Robb's voice. I agree it's about child abuse of some sort | |
