| One of the best songs EVER - in my opinion. I never get tired of it. To me it's about how fast time zooms right by you and you have to make the best of it. The line: "Someone else will be there through the endless years..." gives me chills every time! | |

| i agree with alex_0203 . "i watched madonna say herself that this song is about her feeling like having the whole world on her shoulders and her coming to terms with her responsibility as an individual. that's exactly what she said." That's exactly how she put it in an interview, when asked about the song meaning. Granted, that's what the entire song as a whole means, i would also like to know (as someone posted above) what all of the double entendre's mean, individually. | |

| Simply put; This is possibly the best song EVER. It came out when i was in year 6, It really lets me reflect on when i was young, when i was learning so much about myself and the world.. so much still seemed to have a certan mysteriousness about it, but i also understood a lot, and appreciated what life was like for me at the time. I really do think that 98 was the best part of my life, possibly because, in many ways, it was the last of my childhood, and i began to take so much more of an interest in things like music, i grew so much in that one year and it was really exciting. I would really like to know what all these double entendres mean. Madonna is an icon, and this song is up there with 'like a prayer' | |

| I allways think of a teenager, seeing life as an adventure, having fun in the city, and exploring everything, before it's too late. Getting as much out of her life as possible, and not wanting to waste any time. | |

| It's sort of a remake... From Wikipedia: "The song is based on the track 'Sepheryn', which was originally written by Clive Muldoon and Dave Curtiss. William Orbit re-recorded the song with Christine Leach before he started working with Madonna. However it ended up being recorded by Madonna with its lyrics only changed in a few spots, but with a changed melody and instrumentation. All five (Madonna, William Orbit, Clive Muldoon, Dave Curtiss, and Christine Leach) are credited for Madonna's 1998 version of the song." I would like to hear "Sepheryn" but cannot find it. "Ray of Light" is still one of the best songs ever produced! | |

Bloody Mess All Musical Thunder |

| I read this on a web site .'This song reflects Madonnas desire to have a child and her belief that this would give her life meaning. All mention of lust has been replaced with more spiritual reflections about the power of love.' And, 'It is extremely introspective and psychological in tone.' I am not sure how the lyrics are working, not having any experience of this myself possibly, but more than likely it is abstract poetry related to the kind of feelings involved. | |

| Great song, but it's a remake, like most of madonna's best songs. she doesn't write her own stuff anyway. | |

| Madonna says it's not really about having her daughter, that song is Little Star. It's really about her discovering the kabbalah, and the beauty and richness it gave her | |
