| I think it means that this person that we assume is a lover doesn't want to look deeper. They don't want to see what's really there. They want to see what they want not the truth. She doesn't want to let him go but she just knows that something isn't going right in the relationship. | I don't think the emotional unavailability is necessarily because of a bad relationship. There are other reasons it could be, in my humble opinion. I think it's more of the possible start of a relationship, people are close to each other but can't take it to the next level for whatever reason. | |

| i dont think she is longing for anyone. why would she not want to loose something she doesnt have to begin with. i think this is about a senario like this one: man and woman are in a serious relationship and are perhaps married. perhaps they have a kid. perhaps the kid dies and every time the man looks at the woman he sees his kid in her eyes and freezes. this would be a tuff time for both of them and i think that it would definatly cause tension between the two. it would also cause silences which is what i think this song is about. | |
