| Today I took the first step in addressing someone who makes me feel this way.. I have to obtain resolution regarding the feelings I have. I just got off of the phone with him and am supposed to call him back later to see about getting together to discuss things so that I can get the closure I so desperately need. The song started playing in the back of my mind, my stomach is in knots and I'm getting ready to experience the power of goodbye so that I can move forward. It is painful, yet necessary to confront the person, spill your heart out and let it go..... time to move on regardless of how much I'd like to hold on. | |

| damn I used to lvoe this song cause my dad put the cassete a lot when I was a kid and now I had the cd I didn't remembered it but damn I was liek it came in the right moment I lost a friend through a fight but I use to see him like mroe than friends so when I heard it this gave me strenght because is like the song say: "There's nothing left to try There's no greater power Than the power of goodbye" ... this here is like something I really have to attach to me because he insulted me even wrote a song that was hurtful he's heart wasn't open for me like she say now the spell is broken because I wont speak to him | |

| these lyrics are all messed up. that makes me sad. anyway, this song reminds me of this guy i was friends with for 8 years, and then suddenly it seemed like we were something more, and then i found out it was one great big motherf-ing lie and i'm trying really hard to get past this. the lyrics: "You were my lesson I had to learn I was your fortress You had to burn" describe like my whole situation... i had to learn that you can't always trust someone even if you've known him for 8 years, and i was his fortress because... i don't even know what the hell he wanted from me. i have an idea, but... | |

| To me, it's about not wanting to let go but knowing you must. I think it is about an abusive (physical or emotional) relationship - in the video the chess game is a beautiful touch, I must say. "There's nothing left to lose, there is no more heart to bruise." "Pain is a warning that something's wrong..." | If you've ever loved someone who doesn't love you and only plays a game, then you have to learn this lesson. i already did it. it's a hard way to say goodbye then.. but i think it's the only way. the positiv thing is.. it makes you a little bit harder.. | |

| the song is about having the courage to say goodbye to someone you love no matter how hard it is. there is no greater power than the power of goodbye. it takes up a lot of courage to say goodbye to someone you love. your hearts not open so i must go, the spell has been broken i loved you so- the love is gone and even though she still loves him he doesnt anymore so she has to let go. she knows she has to let go by "you were my lesson i had to learn. i was your fortress you had to burn. pain is a warning that somethings wrong" once you let go, you've lost the person so you dont have anything else left to lose and you wont be hurt no longer which is why you must have the courage to say goodbye. and as limetree stated "learn to say goodbye, i yearn to say goodbye" is the need for closure | |
