'Someone Else's Arms' by Mae
Tabbed by Tony Le (boybaka@hotmail.com)
My symbols used:
\ or / = slide up or down to next chord
) = keep strumming
The guitar parts are written to match each other, so they have weird spacing.
Just change notes when you hear it.

| i agree with logic23 on the one man came one truth to tell. yah know it sort of random and i might be wrong about this but maybe he is in a relationship with a girl that doesnt know jesus and he is trying to get her to know him but she doesnt want to and everytime he brings it up....it gets akward and the relationship is meaningless now.....dunno..... either that or something else! (any comments on that?) in HIM, Adrienne | |

| OK...here's my take on the song. two days and i've not slept a wink with these thoughts that i've been thinking. this is the mark i aim to mis (again). you toss and turn, i lie awake. who knows what i've been drinking. another cheap, meaningless kiss (to give). -he is in a relationship. But....he is really into someone else. So even though he's sharing this bed and such with his gf/wife/whatever...he can't sleep b/c hes thinking about someone else. The Mark he aims to miss...he doesn't WANT to think of someone else...but sometimes when your in a relationship and someone else comes along you can't control how you feel. from the beginning, dulled down and lots with all it's charm. i just want to wake up, wake up in someone's... -in the begging everything was great. now...the relationship has dulled down...lost the excitement and charm...and...he wants to "wake up in SOMEONE ELSES arms"....someone specific I am thinking. i just want to wake up. i just want to wake up. i just want to wake up. i just want to wake up. six days and i can see the same brown eyes in this reflection. is this the man you say i'll be (become)? you toss and turn, i lie awake. into the sand we're sinking. holding us back from breathing free (i'm done). -he doesn't wanna be the cheating guy. he's looking at himself like dude you gotta stop...you're being an asshole. I'm thinking they're married. Like...because of the last line, the sand is holding them back from being free...so he's not free to just do what he wants. from the beginning, dulled down and lost with all it's charm. i just want to wake up, wake up in someone's... i just want to wake up. i just want to wake up. i just want to wake up. i just want to wake up. i just want to wake up. more than words, keep to yourself. like a curse that fares thee well. one man came. one truth to tell. all this blame. hammers your way to hell. -he's saying ANYTHING more than words...DONT TAKE ACTION!!! because he knows it's wrong. And he wants to just come out and tell her...but then they'll be a huge blame game. so he doesn't say anything....knows what he's gonna do is wrong and its "hammering his way to hell" i've got a feeling it's not the safest place to start. this heavy breathing, it seems we're better off breaking hearts. from the beginning, dulled down and lost with all it's charm. i just want to wake up, wake up in someone's... -ok..here I think he sleeps with this other chick. He's like...this isnt the safest place to start...I should've brought it up..."all this heavy breathing, were better off breaking hearts" or whatever, that seems like...uh oh...we've gone to far. i would;ve been better off just ending things with her. and once again...in the begging it's great....but then it could be a circle...and in the end he'll end up wanting to be in someone elses arms again....possibly the first girl. i just want to wake up. i just want to wake up. (i just want to wake up.) i just want to wake up. i just want to wake up. (i just want to wake up.) i just want to wake up. i just want to wake up. (i just want to wake up.) i just want to wake up. i just want to wake up in someone else's arms. | |

| i think its about the struggle a lot of young people have when theyre lonely, they want to find true love so they can wake up in their arms and be happy but at the same time, instant gratification is hard to fight. drinking and moving too fast lets you wake up in someone's arms but its a cheap fix. he realizes this, and even though he's thinking of *her* he cant stop himself from drinking and giving "another cheap meaningless kiss" | |

Niether one is sleeping well with the other there. He hates what is going on between them but seems to need the campanionship for he is asking to wake up in "someone else's arms" not wake up without her there. | |

| Hmm.. I dunno, truelysaved. Nothing against you or how you see the song, but the Jesus thing is a bit of a stretch, I think. I read a few comments and they share what I think the song is about. The character in the song is in a relationship, but he wants to break it up. That's the most obvious part of the song. XD Two days and I've not slept a wink these thoughts that I've been thinking This is the mark I aim to miss (again) --This is about how he can't sleep cuz he's up thinking so much about their relationship, and the mark he aims to miss is maybe like his chance to break up with the girl, but he knows he's not going to do it. You toss and turn, I lye awake Who knows what I've been drinking Another cheap meaningless kiss (to give) --Maybe the girl's thinking about it too? Or she could be tossing and turning in bed and it was just a saw of saying that the character's in bed with her, thinking. And he's drinking alittle, blah blah, and his kisses are meaningless now. From the beginning Dove down, and lost with all his charm Just wanna wake up Wake up in someone's... -- Blah blah, saying that since the beginning of their relationship, I guess the rush of first meeting and stuff was good, but it jus went downhill from there. It got boring I guess? I just wanna wake up... Six days and I can see the same Brown eyes in this reflection Is this the man you say I’ll be? (become) --I dunno.. Lol. This is jus a random guess, he's seeing himself in the mirror and wonders if he's changed or stayed the same since he met the girl? *shrug* You toss and turn, I lie awake Into the sand were sinking Holding us back from breathing free (under) --Here it comes how out their in quicksand, the longer the wait, the deeper they go where if one of them just said it, they both could be free. XD More than words, keep to yourself Like the curse, fare thee well One-man game, one truth to tell All this blame, hammers your way to hell --This is the part where someone thought it was a reference to Jesus cuz of the one line of "One man came" ?? It's "More than words" ~ ~ So this is saying like, they're making it worse by not talking, and maybe it's just the girl that likes the guy, so it's a one side game kinda thing. I've got a feeling It's not the safest place to start This heavy breathing It seems we’re better off breaking hearts And the beginning -- Err.. o.o Dunno. Something about sex and how they're better off braeking hearts (breaking up?) Lol the more I type and say what I think it is, the more I start to doubt myself cuz the lyrics are kinda confusing. x.x Dove down and lost all his charm Just wanna wake up Wake up in someone's... --blah blah read above. I just wanna wake up In someone else's arms --Aaand finally he says it at the end. XD Yeah, um..That's jus my half cent in, cuz I realized some of the things I said was probably wrong. xD | |

| i agree with logic23 on the one man came one truth to tell. yah know it sort of random and i might be wrong about this but maybe he is in a relationship with a girl that doesnt know jesus and he is trying to get her to know him but she doesnt want to and everytime he brings it up....it gets akward and the relationship is meaningless now.....dunno..... either that or something else! (any comments on that?) in HIM, Adrienne | |

| i think its about the struggle a lot of young people have when theyre lonely, they want to find true love so they can wake up in their arms and be happy but at the same time, instant gratification is hard to fight. drinking and moving too fast lets you wake up in someone's arms but its a cheap fix. he realizes this, and even though he's thinking of *her* he cant stop himself from drinking and giving "another cheap meaningless kiss" | |

| One-man game, one truth to tell All this blame, hammers your way to hell I guess I'll be the first one to say it. I don't think this is a "guy/girl" song. Read the lyrics again and try to look at it a different way. | |

| I think it's about someone who wants to fall in love, basically. He's gone after a crush, or several, only to find that it was meaningless. He longs for real love, not a cheap imitation. | |

| i think that the relationship he has with his current girlfriend or whoever she is just isn't working out it's sort of a mutual thing b/c neither can sleep well and so he just wants to get out of the relationship like as fast as he can even tho he knows he may regret it later:"one-man game, one truth to tell/all this blame, hammers your way to hell" | |

| I think this song sums up the feelings of so many late teens to late twenties today. They're tired of being alone and long for someone else's companionship. Its a very wrestless feeling | |

| To me it sounds like he's having troubles with his current relationship. Both of them aren't happy and things just aren't working out ("another cheap meaningless kiss"). Things have been so bad that it's gotten to the point where he wants to "wake up in someone ELSE'S arms". | |
