This is played a total of 16 audible times of which the first FOUR times are
played with no lead guitar, just orchestration...THEN on the FIFTH time the
lead guitar comes in with it. At the THIRTEENTH (13th) time it starts to
fade out until unhearable.

This is played with lots of orchestration and unfortunately my violins are in
the shop being tuned and mended (You know Im joking right?? Surely...!!) but
there is also a lot of lead guitar which is a little hard to tab so Ill put
some riffs here you can use (Some/Most of which are in the song anyway) and
its best to play these quite quickly.
OUTRO LEAD GUITAR:
This is quite accurate, but its all over the place really, its too difficult
to get it PERFECT but you could use this and the solo's would be recognisable
and the main bit is the first bit, the really quick licks...There are almost
perfect...I am sure of the frets etc etc unless my guitar was out of tune but
I doubt it...So all in all this should be pretty good.

| I'm the first one to comment? Cool. I love this song. :) The first time I heard this and read the lyrics, I thought it was stupid, and one of the Manics' worst pieces. I liked the tune, but at the time, the lyrics meant nothing to me. Then I read in an interview/article somewhere that Winston Churchhill called his depression a "black dog", and that's where the song title came from. Now I feel dumb for not looking deeper into it, as the Manics almost always have a deeper, sometimes implied, meaning. | |

| I feel that the line "Winston Churchill, can you hear my voice" is a bit too forced to work in this song. He obviously wanted to leave a clue as to what the song was about. The problem is that the clue is not likely to lead anyone to the answer, but if you know about the Churchill Black Dog quote it is not necessary to include the line. A bit like using a hammer instead of using subtlety like the rest of the song. | |
