Oh, oh into the dark

I love this live song, James Dean Bradfield really does the lyrics justice (as we've come to expect). It was a number 1 for Art Garfunkel back in 1979, and was written by Mike Batt about the death of his father. It's usually associated with the film "Watership Down", but this really is beautiful and harrowing to listen to.

Few minor corrections (at least on the Lipstick Traces cd) Is it a kind of dream, Floating down on the river, Following the river of death downstream? Oh, is it a dream? There's a fog on the horizon, A strange glow in the sky, And nobody seems to know where you can go, And what does it mean? Oh, is it a dream? Bright eyes, Burning like fire. Bright eyes, How can you close and fail? How can the light that burned so brightly Suddenly turn so pale? Bright eyes. Is it a kind of shadow, Reaching over the hill, Wandering over the hills unseen, Or is it a dream? There's a high wind in the trees, A cold sound in the air, And nobody ever knows when you can go, And where do you start, Oh, oh, into the dark. Bright eyes, burning like fire. Bright eyes, how can you close and fail? How can the eyes that burned so brightly Suddenly close so pale? bright eyes. Bright eyes, burning like fire. Bright eyes, how can you close and fail? How can the light that burned so brightly Suddenly burn so pale? Bright eyes.
