| An ode to self abuse. The riff is a straight pinch from David Bowie's "Sorrow" and fade out almost Hey Jude-esque which shows they could pretty much wear their influences on there sleeves. The title is also lifted from a line from the film Times Square which links to Damn Dog from the first album. Their most effective stab at a pop song before Everything Must Go. | |

| "It's about something beautiful, in a decaying place" is a good summary. Why was this left off their greatest hits? It's the best song off Gold Against The Soul, and it contains the title line of the compilation i.e. Forever Delayed. | |

| My friends, even those who are manics fans, are afraid of the "try to pull my fingernails out" and "stub cigarettes out on my arms" lyrics. This is beautiful, just gory, graphic beautiful pain. The "Rudi Rudi Rudi Rudi Rudi Rudi Rudi Rudi gonna fail" bit is a nod to the clash song Rudie Can't Fail. | |

| Gorgeous song, it's one of my favorites. I can never get enough of it, both the lyrics and the melody always pull me in. The lyrics are haunting and depressing, but in a beautiful way.. I agree with Vanadis's interpretation of them. | |

| When people get depressed, fall into drugs, or just fuck up, attention is showered on them. People feel bad for them; but, this is a conflicting message, because the most attention and love the average person will get in their life is when they are fucked up, down on their luck. so do others want you to be that way? why dont they care about you as much when you are fine, when everything is good? this a circular dilemma which never ends, read the lines of the first stanza, "tried to tear my finger nails out/... I want to cling to something soft" he didnt tear his finger nails out because of self lothing or some masacistic lust, he did it to hold onto that care that is recieved from concerned people, the roses in the hospital is the symbol of that sypathy for those who have hit the bottom, he tore them out so he could have this love. The ending refrain is the anticipation, the wait for the care, it builds up and itches like a drug addiction, forever and forever, the repetition and the length of this song serve to illustrate the circular and dangerous nature of unfettered sympathy for the downtrotten. | |

| The DVD just contains every video released mainstream, because although it didn't make it to the CD Foreve Delayed, it was released as a single. "It's about something beautiful in a decaying place" is totally correct. But yes, it's about isolation and deals with the ideals of self-harm and people offering faux-sympathy and care. | |

| Surely this song is about neglect., how people can be ignored and taken for granted until something happens to them. I think it's saying "Roses in the hospital? What use are they, if you'd cared about me before I wouldn't be in this mess" | |

| in my eyes this song indicates the wait to a hear a suicide victims fate, where the victim is infact the one waiting, a person tortured in mind trying 2 find self fulfilment in self harm, it shows the need for the subject to claw themselves out of the depression but it also indicates the impossibility of doing this. it also symbolises fame and how this can tortute and tear people apart, it ends with what i see as a regret of life and a bitter feeling towards a world that continually fucked them over. | |
