| When I was in kindergarten there was a kid in my class....I don't remember a whole lot about him, but I remember him always sitting by himself during lunch and movie time, that kind of stuff. Well he and his family moved after that one year I knew him...I don't remember where to...but a few years ago the kids that were in his class that still went to school here all got called to the office. They told us when we got up there that he had killed himself, and they told us the date of the service and what not. Granted I never really knew him, this song makes me think about him. | |

| This song to me is about the loss of faith (as I suppose most suicides are). I'm not sure what faith, if any, Wozniak was at the time he wrote this,* but it seems like the song is questioning the belief in gOD and religion in general. It seems to be arguing against the sentimental idea that angels are always looking out for us, and gOD has a plan for everyone, etc. These people, who have devoted their lives to gOD have been let down, and no one was there to reassure them, and they were nothing more than a few lines in the obit. section in the paper the next day. Very depressing, but in my opinion, very true. I believe we are all alone in the end. *I know he went to a Catholic school when he was a boy, but I also know a lot of former Catholic who convert to another religion or atheism as soon as they are out of their parents' house because Catholicism is scart | |
