| I think the line "we used to love ourselves, we used to love one another" means that we used to accept and love everyone for who they were/are (love thy neighbor) and we used to appreciate our lives and didn't do self-destructive things. | |

| Well, we all have our own contexts, and mine says something political and historical. I think useYOURbrain has a point when he/she says that we pray for a better world but don't get anywhere because we don't actually do anything - the 1st verse conveys this. "Nothing heals and nothing grows" in our world because it's based too much around money and not enough around morality, spirituality and family values. For example liberals believe many things can be cured by simply throwing money at people (giving them anti-depressents and simply more money for minority groups and 'socially disadvantaged groups ' like gays and blacks etc.).Really, people don't need money thrown at them, they simply need to have faith - spirituality.(don't put money before honour and God etc.). "It's a Great big white world" - Western ways are increasingly over the past few centuries dominated the world, especially now with globalisation.(and most westerners are white - so its a white world)."We are drained of our colours" because liberals believe in things like multiculturalism which is contrary to the natural laws of animals(and thus humans) (say trying to put cats amongst dogs and expect them to live in harmony)."We used to love ourselves,we used to love one another" to me shows that back in the day western society was more together in the sense of faith - Christianity - and culture. But now there are many things now that challenge that way of life (multicultralism) and cause nations to have huge internal differences and increased crime and hate crime rates."All my stiches itch, my perscriptions low" shows that now we are a very artificial society, we fear physical death because some believe this is it - there is no afterlife, no heaven. So we are obsessed with our physical 'God'to heal us (the doctor). The "Perscription" image shows that many of us need healing via drugs rather than spiritual healing and love. All mentioned vices is why our world is so ugly.L8er.Cheers! | |
