	At the beginning, the raspy sound is Manson saying "This is my most vulnerable moment". If you've read his book (The Long Hard Road out of Hell), there's a rather beautiful description of what it was like to write The Minute of Decay. It's near the back, under 'Traitors to Kin'.

	Ok so sadness, depression, some apathy, desire for alike company, and rock bottom internally and emotionally. It all makes sense. No wonder it is such a great song.
