marilyn manson...wow....well...here is my opinion: Marilyn Manson has a very odd obsession with the JFK assasination (WITH GOOD RIGHT). I understand that the assasination had an effect on everyone. but I think that while it was sad, it is deffinetly time to move on (its 2005 for goodness sake!) I am not saying we should FORGET JFK, of course we shouldn't. but we seem to hold JFK as a christ like figure(which we SHOULDN'T he comes nowhere CLOSE to christ!), and we need to MOVE ON!!! ~Olivia~

I have just seen Lamb of God perform this song live and, wow, it blew me away. This song is amazing, i don't know how to explain, it just takes me to another place, in fact, this song scares me and i love it.

This song is clearly a reference to the fact if you die with camera's flashing you become a martyr, and uses both JFK and J. Lennon as the primary examples of such behavior. Personally I think this is one of the band's best compositions, and is a fitting tribute in a way to both of the deceased because while both of them died and it effected the world, nothing really changed. I suppose that's just my opinion.

I think he is using jfk as a teaching tool, ppl can relate to the effect jfk and his martyrdom had on people. He is comparing jfk to jesus to show that jesus was probably not the son of god, but a god like figure just like jfk was. Back then it would be easy for ppl to believe that a god like figure was really god. That didn't happen with jfk because people are better informed, we have media to explain to us exactly who jfk was. Back then they didn't have that and if one person said jesus is a god ppl would believe it.

Great song. "There was Christ in the metal shell" - JFK (as a comparison of christ) in his car "There was blood on the pavement" - After he was shot obviously "The camera will make you god" - Publicity and serialism made JFK into a christ like figure, he was even martyred "That's how Jack became sainted" - You have to admit JFK is like a saint now, people ask "where were u when JFK was killed?" everyone knows about it, school history classes even teach it. The Chorus is reasonably self-explanatory, if your life AND DEATH are televised and in the public eye, nobodies gunna forget you in a hurry, if not, your just another nobody pdawg explained the second verse pretty well "It took three days, for him to die so the born again could buy the serial rights" This is saying how the "born again" or Christians use Christs martyrdom in ways which it wasnt meant to be used. Anyway, thats what I think, Dont shoot me :p

the chorus of this song "nothing's going to change the world" is sought to be similar to john lennon's song "across the universe" which bears the chorus "nothing's going to change my world" in "lamb of god" one of the lines is "we were looking for Mark David", mark david being the man who shot lennon and in fact did change his world
