5 rocks!
G D
I've been the needle and the thread
Am C
Weaving figure eights and circles round your head
G D
I try to laugh but cry instead
Am C
Patiently wait to hear the words you've never said
G D
Fumbling through your dresser door forgot what I was looking for
Am C
Try to guide me in the right direction
G
Making use of all this time
D
Keeping everything inside
Am C
Close my eyes and listen to you cry
G D
I'm lifting you up
Em
I'm letting you down
C
I'm dancing til dawn
G
I'm fooling around
D
I'm not giving up
Em
I'm making your love
C G
This city's made us crazy and we must get out
G D
This not goodbye she said
Am C
It is just time for me to rest my head
G D
She does not walk she runs instead
Am C
Down these jagged streets and into my bed
G D
Fumbling through your dresser door forgot what I was looking for
Am C
Try to guide me in the right direction
G
Making use of all this time
D
Keeping everything inside
Am C
Close my eyes and listen to you cry
G D
I'm lifting you up

I'm letting you down

I'm fooling around

I'm not giving up

I'm making your love

This city's made us crazy and we must get out

There's only so much I can do for you

| I just luv this song, I could listen to it a million times and never get sick of it! I reckon its a song about a guy who broke his girlfriends heart because he kept on cheating on her. But he only realised that he was doing this when he read it in her diary("fumbling through your dresser drawer"). He loves her but he realises that she doesnt deserve a guy like him and he doesnt want to hurt her anymore. Maroon 5 is just such an awesome band... luv this song!!! | |

| Hey DMB84! I went to a concert in detroit and they ended w/ that! Was it the Honda Civic tour and if so, wasn't that concert AWESOME!! The song is amazing, it's one of my favorites. I agree w/ pretty much anyone in saying that he's in a relationship and he keeps hurting this girl on accident. He doesn't know why he keeps doing it, but no matter what, he keeps hurting her. I think he's saying they should just get away from each other because their relationship is obviously unhealthy and he doesn't want to keep hurting her. | |

| in my view, shes nuts in her own regard, and not ready to express the appreciation she has for him and she leaves cuz she doesnt want to take him for granted but she returns becuase hes so great to her and this polarity is in turn driving him nuts. the city is the connection they have, the relationship, and i think hes giving it a phsycial place because in order for her to be ready they need to be apart, hence, leaving the city | |

| I love Maroon 5 and this is my favorite Maroon 5 song. They just played at my college (Gettysburg) and they were awesome. They put on a great show. Their encore was a cover of "Highway to Hell" and it rocked. As far as this song, I think it's cool how he seems like no matter what he does, he just cofuses her, but she can't bring herself to leave. You gotta go see these guys in concert, they're awesome!!!! | |

| this song is beautiful somehow. i think its about a relationship that just doesnt seem to click but he doesnt want to let her down so he's trying to reassure her (and himself) that he's gonna be her guy and he's gonna be there for her. | |

| awww i love this song. my dad loves it too. i think he just really confuses her, and he doesn't know why. he does stuff that makes her want to leave, but she can't. she always comes back to him. and he really hates that he makes her feel this way. i wonder what "city" he's talking about. los angeles, perhaps? ;) i love the music, too. so gentle. you can see that he's pleading with her. poor jane. | |

| I think this song is awesome-o. It's like he keeps doing these things to her and he really doesn't want to, he doesn't understand why she keeps coming back. He wants to leave the city (whichever one that may be) and start a new life with her. | |

| I'm pretty sure these two are just friends, and she's in a relationship. So when he tries to laugh he's trying to shake off his pain in waiting for her to tell him she feels the same about him. He's weaving figure 8's to get her to leave her guy for him. But until then he's keeping it all inside. Then in the second verse she's leaving her man and running down the jagged streets. If they were in a relationship represented by the city, he'd probably say one of them needs to get out, but not "we". | |

| I think this song is pretty much what everyone says...they are in a relationship...and it's just really not working up, but neither wants to give it up. so he's looking through her dresser trying to find something...but he doesn't remember what...probably something that'll make him know that she's cheating on him.... So in the second verse the girl lets him go...well she doesn't let him go...she just wants a break from him...and instead of takin a break she ends up going RIGHt back to him... so the guy just wants to run away from the city thinking that maybe things will get better... wow...this sounds so much like my relationship with my boyfriend... | |

| Definitely about a man who is in love with a woman, but she is involved with another man. She finally gives in to him, and they "run away" from everything around them. | |

| I don't see why you think he's cheating on her in this song. I think that he wants her and she won't succumb. Even though she wants him, just maybe not to the extent he wants her. "She does not walk she runs instead, down these jagged streets and into my bed"... My favorite line. | |
