Am
I'm full of regret
F E
For all things that I've done and said
Am F E
And I don't know if it'll ever be ok to show
Am
My face 'round here
F E
Sometimes I wonder if I disappear

F E Am
Would you ever turn your head and look

See if I'm gone
F
Cause I fear

E Am E
There is nothing left to say to you
C
That you wanna hear
D
That you ought to know
F
I think I should go
E Am
The things I've done are way too shameful

Am
You're just an innocent
F E
A helpless victim of a spiders web
Am
And I'm an insect
F E
Going after anything that I can get

Chorus:
F E Am
So you better turn your head and run

and don't look back
F
Cause I fear

E Am
There is nothing left to say
E
To you
C
That you wanna hear
D
That you ought to know
F
I think I should go
E Am
The things I've done are way too shameful

Am E
And I've done you so wrong
C
Treated you bad
D
Strung you along
F
Oh shame on myself
E Am
I don't know how I got so tangled

Am E C D F E Am
oooOOOooooHHHhhhhh

Repeat Chorus X 2

Ad Lib: Am E C D F E Am

Maroon 5 introduced me to rock too :-) Although I would not sink so low as to call James Blunt rock. No offence.

I'm pretty sure he's just saying that he cheated on her. He knows he shouldn't have done it, but it just happened so fast he couldn't stop it. He wishes it hadn't happened but he can't undo his mistake.

I find it interesting that the lyrics say: "A helpless victim of a spider's web/ and I'm an insect..." The only way an insect would ever have anything to do with a spider's web would be if it was stuck! (Spiders aren't insects, they're arachnids. Insects have 6 legs, arachnids have 8... etc.) So even if Adam Levine meant that the girl's a victim of a spider's web and he's the spider who's coming to eat her (or whatever), what he ended up saying was they're both insects who could end up tangled/are tangled in someone else's web. That could make sense, except the rest of the song implies that it's all Adam Levine's fault. ("...the things that I have done and said," etc.) ...Though of course, the name of the song is "Tangled." Maybe Maroon 5 IS talking about two insects tangled in someone else's web. (I doubt it though.)

Val, that's not the way you should interpret lyrics. Don't look at lyrics too literally, but feel and go with what your senses tells you. This one's about how Adam fucked up on a relationship so bad, he should just leave and wishes that Adam's partner just forgets forever what he's done to her and everything about Adam.

i really really love 'em. They broght me to the genre rock! Since I hadSongs about Jane, i started to listen to green day, nirvana, the cranberries, the white stripes, coldplay, james blunt, garbage, die ärzte, and a lot of other rock, which is wonderful. i went to their concerts in cologne. it was my first one and till now the only one, but i will go to more. i love 'em, really. but i feel bad because i've only got the songs about jane album. not the first one.sorry. but i have got a guitar now. and i listen to wonderful music. imso in love with rock now. and they made my english better. since then ialways had a 2 or 1 on my record mark, which in america is like A or B.

Oooh I quite agree with what Val said. And anyway, maybe they are talking about two tangled insects in someone else's web. I mean, who said Adam and Jane couldn't have had a lurve triangle... or, dare I say, three some.

i agree with that friendship theory, i think that the part from "Would you ever turn your head and look" to "The things I’ve done are way to shameful" is right from a friendship where you have done wrong and theres no way of going back to the old good times... but also the insect part could be telling from a relationship... though i think it tells about a friendship..

I always consider this song to be about friendships... Do you know when you really hurt a friend unintentionally with actions and/or words and you stop being friends? He is trying to tell his friend he is really ashamed about something he did and he feels nothing he says or does will make it better so he just leaves...

please allow me to clarify, as I was thinking of this just today... The idea is that the entire mess of the relationship is a tangled web. He's an insect that is chasing after whatever he wants ( as insects do, and that's how they get trapped in webs) and she is just some innocent thing that happened to be caught by the web as well. He feels that he was more deserving of the entanglement, but she shouldn't have had to be in it. Therefore if she gets the chance to get out, she ought to run as far awy as possible so as not to get caught again.

basicly its goin on about someone who is stuck/tangled in something and they got someone else caught in with them but they didnt mean it as they have nothing to do with it and the person that got the other person stuck is sure that no-one wants him around any more
