| Damn, this song really relates to a situation a friend of mine is in. I think the boyfriend is breaking it off with his girlfriend even though he wants to make it work. He just knows it won't, and it hurts him to see her upset. But it has to be done for both their sakes. | |

I've been a happily married man for almost 17 years now....but this song reminds me of a long time ago, almost a past life and the realness of going through something like this. | this song is currently my favorite one off the album...and as so many of you have said, the lyrics are pretty much self explanatory...but what i love most about this song is the music and the chorus. i think because i can identify with them so much right now... DMADSEN...i agree with you that although he says those words that he doesn't really want to. it's obvious when he tells her that the city is nice but he can't see it clearly b/c when she's there everything else is out of focus...i mean when the words first pop into your head (it's better that we break), when you realize that all you could and would do to improve the relationship still wouldn't be enough....you just know that you have to let go...but still...who would want to acknowledge that the love they had is now gone??? this song is deep and painfully honest...even so, i love it so very much...totally had it on repeat on my ipod the entire day...lol | |

| Man, this is a sad song. Music and words combine very well in this song, the piano really makes that feeling come across. Not too hard to figure out the meaning, as the lyrics are pretty direct, actually, I would say that even though he says "maybe we're better off this way, it's better that we break" he definitely doesn't mean that. | |
