i think it's talking about some girl who continually flirts with him. Then when he thinks she really loves him, she turns around and says she doesn't. He keeps getting hurt by her, and he doesn't want her around, but he can't help letting her come back.

Once again, this song is about a relationship in which the guy cares a lot more, but he realizes this is over as said "It's so simple and complicated. The way you can crush me. No matter how much this hurts, this is through." "Excuse me while I fall apart. Don't flatter yourself sweetheart. Let me take the wheel and I'll crash this car. Why do you have to make this so hard? You're so good at pretending everything is alright. You're as welcome as cancer, but my door is always unlocked" His life is falling apart. When he says "Let me take the wheel and I'll crash this car", it could mean he is asking for the control of this relationship and he will crush it forever, but i actually think he literally will crash the car and die if the girl is with him, he can't live without her. At the end, he admits to no longer getting along with her, but still loving her

These lyrics are proper amazee:) seems soo emo like. not MR style at alll.... okies so heres my take on the song: "It's so simple and complicated. The way you can crush me." "No matter how much this hurts, this is through. I get as far as your door before i get caught." Means it hurts him but he always goes back. A girl messes with this guys head and she gets him t like her but then she does something to change that. "So are we playing for keeps. The days begin and they don't end for weeks." hes asking if they are 'playing for keeps' which means like are they just messing bout or does it realy mean something and are they going to take it to the next level. i love these lines: "Leave me left out of anyting to do with you. Excuse me while I fall apart. Don't flatter yourself sweetheart" He just wants to stay away from her now and she is having joy while she is watching him 'fall apart' hence, 'excuse me while i fall apart, dont flatter yourself sweetheart' "Let me take the wheel and I'll crash this car. Why do you have to make this so hard?" i think thatsa a metaphor 'crashing this car' means ruining and coming to an end for the relationship but hes still saying why do you have to make it soo hard. 'You're so good at pretending everything is alright. You're as welcome as cancer, but my door is always unlocked" means he cant stand to see her come back but if she does, than he will be there. dont like matchbox romance realy. i just liek the lyrics to this song lol peace yo x

I agree it reminds of a TBS song. I like them better though. They are better live... TBS was good but MCR was just AWESOME!

"you're as welcome as cancer, but my door is always unlocked" i like that line. matchbook is one of my fav's. they have some good lines. check out something corporate... and countmycrows, i def. agree with you on that one i hate it when girls just start listening to it and think they're punk and shit..isn't that just a pain in the ass..it kills me-it's def. a pet peeve

This song means if the girl wants to play for keeps in a game of poker.
