I disagree with them recreating themselves though I can't truely say that for I have yet to listen to the album. This song is nothing like any song on Stories and Alibis. For one the tone is totally different, it is dark, almost sinister. It is also a song that isn't about a girl as were all the songs on Stories and Alibis. They've grown a bit, on this one song at least.

i agree with rockbass in that their trying to refute all the propaganda around us today. every kid when they're little thinks that there's monsters under their bed, and so they're becoming those monsters, but then they're also saying that they might be there ("believe what you read") idk that's just my interpretaion...

Just went to see this band not an hour ago in Perth, was awesome. Thye played 'Monsters' as one of the last four songs, and the mosh pit was packed, completely. Anyway, the lyrics I quite like, and the singing is fantastic, especially live. And I agree with what the rest of you [well, the ones actuallt discussing the lyrics] so far. I hear the Hollywood idea loud and clear. It how it controls and creates and takes away from what you/the/we [actors, veiwers, anyone] has. some verses are about the actual movies [example, it came as no surprise you bring me back to life believe me you bleed for me i'll bleed for you i caught you walking through walls drowned with applause] but most I think is about what it does to you. But that's just my opinion.

this song rocks. i consider it an "anthem" song, meaning that this song is so cool that you listen to it once and love it, get tired of it cause you can't stop listening to it, but after a little while, you still love listening to it even though it's lost it's popularity. i consider "scars" by papa raoch to be an "anthem" song as well.

I think it's really ridiculous to come to a site like this and continuely say "This band blows, etc., etc." We want your two cents on the meaning of the lyrics, not on whether or not the band is worth listening to. So just shut up. Anyway, I think this song is about Hollywood like someone said before... basically saying that they aren't going anywhere and that they'll make sure we'll see them: i won't go anywhere maybe you'll see me Then again it could just be a love song too! Either way, good song.

I like it. It's a nice sounding song; and even though there's a lot of darker vibe, I love the song. It sounds to me like he's singing to a kid in a really crappy, horrid, Broadway-style musical dream.
