Struming. My advice from hearing the song is to strum the song as follows.. 

D = Down strum  U = up strum / = slite rest pause.

Intro - The intro is simple just D G A times 2 but the struming from G to A is split so for example 
it is:
 
Struming pattern: D/UD/D/UD/DUD         D/UD/D/UD/DUD 
Chord:           [all this is on D]    [G to A       ] 

Its very hard to write so listen to the song... you basicaly split the 2 chords G and A into 
one struming pattern.

Verse: D G A Again also same struming pattern (split the G and A chord)

     D         G         A         D
You say that we've got nothing in common
     G       A       D
No common ground to start from
G         A       D    G A
And we're falling apart


This pattern repeats for every verse.

Chorus: D A G Same struming as earlier

There are 3 solos this is the first one. the solos are at a resonable speed but quite simple. 
If you listen to the song you will find out where the solos go. The first solo is played 
over another guitar playing D G A which is played twice with the same struming pattern.
