Valerie Loves Me - by Material Issue
>From the album: International Pop Overthrow
Tabbed by: Chris Wright
I saw a welcome response to the last Material Issue song on here, so I thought
someone might like to see this one as well. Enjoy!

This is the basic chord-picking pattern. These chords are played clean during the verses,
and played with

The next riff (Riff B) is played during the chorus ("Valerie loves me!")

| this song is so amazing. it makes me really sad. i guess it is about a girl named valerie, and how she could have had him, but lost her chance, and now she's the one who's lonely. | |

| this gets me as a guy who knows valerie, and valerie is stuck in a world of her own selfishness... she convinces him that she loves him ..so he waits for her.. as he watches her skip from man to man and always in the center of the social life... ...his dedication to her is more then shown here... but obviously as would with most, he tires of waiting and moves on.. ..so in the end he shows how valerie is older now, her taking love for granted 'love was on a string' has left her alone with nothing but her memories.. that she probably holds dear to her as her happiness, because there is nothing else there.. ..so she relieves when she was the center of it all and could have anything she ever wanted.. but him anymore | |
