Artist: Matthew Good Band
Song: Tripoli
Record: Audio of Being
written by paul (woger_007@hotmail.com)

Tuning: Eb

Chords:
F:133200
C:x355xx
A:577xxx
E:022100
G:355400

hmm... this is the verse, and this may very well be the bass, but anyways, you can play
these chords lightly and it sounds fine

F | C | A | E |

other guitar plays the 12th fret on the A-string and alternates between palm-muting
it and just playing it regular.

ok, now this is actually the real verse (for the lead guitar anyways):

eb-----0-1------------------------------- -------8----7----8-----
Bb---1-----------1-0----0-1-------------- -8-------8----8----8---
Gb-------------0-------0--------1-0------ ---7-------------------
Db-3---------------------------2--------- -----------------------
Ab-----------3--------------------------- -----------------------
Eb--------------------------------------- -----------------------
end with the notes above

Chorus:
the Rythmn guitar plays these chords:

F | A | C | G |

and near the end of the chorus, goes into F | C | A |

the lead just plays this through the chorus:

eb---10-----
Bb---13b15--
Gb----------
Db----------
Ab----------
Eb----------

Then verse, and then the chorus again.

and then we come along to the outro:

the rythmn guitar just plays the chords for the chorus:

Eb--10h12------------------------10h12-----10h12s15-----------------
Bb--------------12h13-13-13h12------------------------------12h13---
Gb------------------------------------------------------------------
Db------------------------------------------------------------------
Ab------------------------------------------------------------------
Eb------------------------------------------------------------------

Eb----------12---10h12-12-12-12-------------------------------------
Bb---12h13-----------------------------13h15-12h13-15~-12-10~~-------
Gb------------------------------------------------------------------
Db------------------------------------------------------------------
Ab------------------------------------------------------------------
Eb------------------------------------------------------------------

those are the notes you play atleast, the timing may be off though, and for that, im sorry,
just listen to the song and you'll be fine... also, theres piano in this song that i have
decided not to write out, mainly because this is a guitar tab, and sheet music, well...
lets just say, i haven't got that much time on my hands to put all that together, just remember
that there is a piano in the background, along with several underlying effects, so thats
what makes the track sound more complete.

comments? feel free to email me at woger_007@hotmail.com, and keep on rocking.

I agree with OrangeSteamboat, but to take it further i think it deals with a breakup and maybe the feeling of self destruction. "Best to defile, best to stay sleeping, in a while, i will awake to be a has been" I will awake to be a has been, seems very sad, but i love the humility. Also, i like how it changes in the second bridge from car keys, to heart keys. it's subtle but i always get caught on that line, "when i lost your heart key, strange how your not with me" it happens to us all, makes ya think for at least a half hour, just on one line, brilliant.

I read somewhere that Matt was in the hospital, and when he came to this is what he was humming in his head first....so he had to get it out.

Before reading these lyrics, I thought he was saying "Whe-e-e-ere's my handgun?" and before that "Whe-e-e-ere's my haircut?". Yeah, the real lyrics make more sense. Good song.

Someone who was big part of your life for a long time has suddenly left it, and you feel like you're going insane.
