As you all may know, these bass parts are somewhat hard to decipher
so,
use your best judgment when playing this song. I know I fuckt
the chorus
part cuz of the picking technique he uses. I just can't hear what
the hell
he's doing! If you can make it out... hell, you let ME know!
[UPDATE] I've seen in Bass Guitar Magazine, the tab I've submitted
is not
exactly the way this song is played; however, it sounds pretty
damn close!

Lassard uses an assortment of lines in the pre-chorus (which
is probably all
improvised). All of the lines are small and almost unnoticeable
but nonetheless,
he plays a variety of bass lines. Listen closely (I suggest using
headphones)
if you want to accurately transcribe his bass parts. And be patient!
Pre-Chorus: Play 8 x's A (A)

Although this part has the higher-registered Chapman Stick
licks in it,
I didn't transcribe it because it can only be transposed using
the high-C of a
6 string bass (which I don't have). It could also be done on the
guitar.
On the 'Stick' The right hand is hammering the lower notes while
the left
hand is hitting the higher two notes. I only tabbed the fret-hand
part for
us normal bassists with normal 4 string basses!
(this part is picked somewhat lightly)

Here's a little treat for you Bass players who actually have
the balls to |
take the forefront. You'll need a 24 fret neck to do this. |
I use a Yamaha TRB-4, 24 fretter. Stuff like this is always fun
at the |
music store. This is the acoustic guitar intro transposed to
bass using the |
two-hand technique. Remember: this intro piece is mostly all
right-hand |
technique. The two-hand technique is made up of all hammer-on's
and |
pull-off's. Have fun and don't loose any hair trying this. It's
all about |
the fun baby! [ PT ] |
