| I will agree with you on one thing. Metal is not as huge as it was in the 80's or early 90's. But that doesn't mean Metal is nearly dead like some of you are saying. Metal was just big in the mainstreme during the 80's nad 90's. Thats part of what tainted some of the more mainstreme stuff like Metallica. If Metallica never got huge like they are they would probably be putting out good albums still. But when they got famous it became about the money. It meya come off that I don''t like Metallica in what i just wrote. It's worth noting that I like old Metallica and over 70 metal bands. More than about 5 of those bands are still realeasing plain old good Metal and not Rock, or Nu Metal, or Rap, or Pop. Those 5-10 bands that don't release anything are becauses A) One of the main/only conastant member died or the band broke up. B) the band went the Metallica path. the Metal stays the same, the media coverage is different. Also, this song is badass. | |

| I agree with SuperSpamAway. Many bands, not all but many, let stardom get to their heads and they get extremely commercial. There are always the die-hard fans that love the band, but the non-obsessed fans give up on the band. Way off topic but... it's awesome when Dave and the rest of Megadeth (at the time) appear on Duck Dodgers and do this song. A great way to promote your new album! Haha... | |

| whoever said todays metal sucks is very wrong. listen to machine head, dragonforce, soilwork, children of bodom, kataklysm, i killed the prom queen, and trivum. all good stuff, but ANYWAYS getting back to the meaning of the song. its about the rise of bay area thrash and when metal was starting to fill the ears of people instead of rock n' roll. p.s.- st. anger was aight, it was a disappointment compared to master of puppets or ride the lightning but metallica will never be like it was before when Cliff Burton was still alive. That and the fact that hetfield is sober, there isn't much room to write another metal masterpiece and try to quit something that you've been addicted to for the past 20+ years. so everyone quitcha bitchin. | |
