| to me, i think this song is about Dave's mind. It talks about how messed up his thoughts are and how when people try to "understand" him they get scared and worried. it also says how everyone has been "there", meaning that everyone has been in his shoes at some point in their lives and they just don't want to admit it. | |

| i aggree witha all of you uve all got valid points! but to me this song has always been the one song ill put on adter a really bad day and escape to my secret place its always helped me through the hard times and i thank mustain for telling us about his secret place! | |
