| i am an athiest; i have no religion but i think anyone who goes to church or reads a bible and actually believes all that bullshit is crazy. If you stop and think about it, religion is bullshit. we are born, we live, and then we die. the end. Hetfield is totally right, you don't need to pay anyone. you don't even need to listen to anyone, is what i think. why should you believe what someone says just cuz they are called a priest and think they talk to "the lord", who doesn't even exist ? I don't get it at all. well there is my opinion. | |

You are aware aren't you (what with your superior intellegence and all) that atheism is actually a form of psychological repression. I pity you. it can't be easy to live with such hatred. Now on to the song- I feel that this is a great song (hell they all are. Metalllica rox!!) i have to agreee that this song is about televangelsits whose only god is money and whose only "jesus" is themselves. That they lead ppl astray in their quest for fame, power and greed is unforgivable. Ultimately however, the joke will be on them. No God -from anybodies religion- will condone their evil acts. | |

| I'm with King Nothing. This song brings to mind those Televangelists who "heal" people, yet they charge you tons of money to go to their show. And if any of you want to defend thme by saying "it's God's work," did Jesus take a dime when he healed people, back in the day? | |
