| No it isn't....this song is about a person who has been wrongfully accused of the crime and is now being sentenced to death because of it. "Guilty as charged" just means he was FOUND guilty by the court. | |

| It is important wheater the guy did or did not commit the crime. The man is going to die for commiting a crime he didn't commit. Hetfield said that he believes in capital punishment, and the song is more about the idea of being strapped to the electric chair even though you didn't commit the crime, and it is about, like others on the album "Ride the Lighting," are about not being able to escape a situation. | |

| But what about the whole sudden confusion about him being there? He doesn't even understand why he is there. I think it could go both ways as far as weather or not he is guilty. I imagine Metallica meant him to be guilty, but you never know unless you ask them yourself. | |
